Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, August 23rd 2025
Race 6: Sintoro Silver Shadow Stakes – 1200m - 2:35pm (AEST)
(1) Within The Law $4.20: Classy 3YO filly who has already built an impressive record early in her career and was only a whisker away from Group One glory last start in the Champagne Stakes. She resumes here off an 18 week break and has tuned up nicely with a handy 900m trial at Rosehill. Unbeaten first-up and with a proven affinity for this track, she looks well placed to kick off her campaign in style. She has drawn favourably and maps to get a nice run throughout. In-form jockey Jason Collett remains on top also boosting confidence. The only slight knock is whether she handles a testing heavy surface, but her sheer class and determination suggest she can overcome it. Definite winning chance.
(4) Agarwood $2.60: The up and coming 3YO Filly who looks to quite the talent with her two unbeaten runs where she never looked like losing in either. She has had 13 weeks off, but has trialed the house down on two occasions leading into this with a 5L and 3.5L trial win. Loves the wet and will have plenty of admirers here. This will be her toughest test yet and meets a few black types for the first time. The one to watch leading into Spring.
Note: If you fancy Agarwood, then make sure you head to Dabble where they are offering a great promotion where you'll get odds of $2.60 for Agarwood to finish in the top 2.
(6) Queen Of Clubs $12.00/$2.80: The roughie of the field who got the chocolates in her fourth start and did it nicely at big odds at Rosehill in open grade. Resuming today and gets the booking of J-Mac. Will only be improving off last campaign. Blow out hope.
(1) Within The Law
$4.20 (1.5 Units)
Race 8: Winx Stakes – 1400m - 3:50pm (AEST)
(3) Gringotts $5.00: 6YO gelding who boasts a pretty tidy CV and proved last campaign that he can now match it at this level. He has a nice first up record and has only missed the drum on one occasion over this trip. Yet to run on the heavy, but his soft track form suggests he can handle it. Among the dangers.
(4) Arapaho $31.00/$6.00: 9YO Veteran who is a multiple Group 1 winner and she is a mudlark which suits here. Trialled well and if she is still capable of running a race she has to be considered here with these conditions.
(9) Via Sistina $2.50: 8YO Mare who is all class. Drawn well and J-Mac for waller is hard to look past. She is by far the best horse in the race and looks to have returned nicely with her most recent trial. Prefer her on the dry, but the talent should prevail. Hard to hold out.
(9) Via Sistina
$2.50 (3.5 Units)
Race 9: Hyland Race Colours Show Country Quality - 1200m – 4:30pm (AEST)
(1) Yellow Brick $7.50/$2.50: 6YO Gelding who was enormous last start narrowly going down to the talented War Machine at Eagle Farm. Gone for a spell and returns with two nice trials which suggests he is in good order. Drawn well and Andrew Mallyon has made the trip down to ride. Proven wet tracker and looks a major player. Value
(3) Encap $13.00/$3.80: 5YO gelding who is generally around the mark but can find it hard to win. The early market support suggests he is going to run a big race first up. Nash Rawiller booked boosts confidence. Watch the market. One for the exotics.
(10) Bandis Boy $14.50/$4.00: 6YO gelding who enjoys the wet track and was solid through to the line down the Flemington straight last start finishing behind the talented King Of Roseau. Back to Randwick now and remains at 1200m where he is a 3 x winner. Drawn to effect.
(1) Yellow Brick E/W
$7.50/$2.50 (1U/2U)
