2025 AFLW Round 2 Betting Tips

Collingwood vs GWS

Saturday 1:05pm AEST, Victoria Park

Both Collingwood and GWS will be desperate to open their accounts for the 2025 season after suffering disappointing losses in Round 1. The Magpies went down to arch-rivals Carlton by 24 points and will be breathing fire as they return to the safety of Victoria Park. Expect them to be eager to atone for last week's performance and put on a show for their home fans.

The Giants, however, enter the match in far worse shape. They are reeling from a hefty 56-point thrashing at the hands of the Bombers, a defeat made catastrophic by the devastating news that superstar captain Alyce Parker has been ruled out for the season with a serious injury. Losing their best on-field leader leaves an irreplaceable void in their midfield and a massive challenge for a side already low on confidence.

This sets up as the perfect bounce-back opportunity for Collingwood. Facing a demoralised and depleted Giants outfit, the Magpies should be too strong on their home deck. Expect them to come out on top, but it to be somewhat close due to the lack of firepower the Pies have up forward.

Collingwood 1-24

$2.25 (1 Unit)

Melbourne vs St Kilda

Saturday 3:05pm AEST, Casey Fields

Melbourne looked intent on rectifying last season's failures, putting the competition on notice with a 48-point demolition of the Bulldogs. Their star-studded midfield was simply dominant, signaling the Demons are back to their premiership-contending best and determined to climb back up the ladder.

They face a St Kilda team fresh off arguably their greatest-ever victory. Toppling the Crows by 22 points was a massive statement, showing a vast improvement from the side that fell short of finals last year. They have a newfound belief and a game style that can trouble the top teams.

While Melbourne’s powerful start makes them the team to beat in this contest, St Kilda's stunning Round 1 performance proves they are not to be underestimated. The Demons are the deserving favourites, but the Saints are fired up and have the tools to make this a fierce contest from start to finish.

St Kilda +15.5

$1.88 (2 Units)

Gold Coast vs Sydney

Saturday 3:05pm AEST, People First Stadium

The Sydney Swans will look to continue their perfect start to the 2025 season when they take on a struggling Gold Coast Suns outfit. After missing finals last year, the Swans are on a mission and began their campaign impressively with a solid 20-point victory over the Tigers. They have unearthed a future star in rookie Zippy Fish, whose sensational 26-disposal debut has added a new layer of excitement and class across the half back line

Conversely, the Suns appear destined for another difficult season near the bottom of the ladder. Their 15-point loss to the Eagles in Round 1 was a deeply disappointing result and suggests they are a long way off the pace of the competition's improving sides.

This matchup presents a stark contrast in form and ambition. The confident and talented Swans are a team on the rise, while the Suns are already on the back foot. Expect Sydney's midfield to dominate, providing their forwards with plenty of opportunities to secure a comfortable victory.

Sydney –14.5

$1.87 (2 Units)

Fremantle vs Brisbane

Saturday 5:05pm AEST, Fremantle Oval

Fremantle will be buzzing with confidence after an impressive 22-point victory over the Power to kickstart their season. The Dockers were massively boosted by the successful return of two of their most important players. Star midfielder Kiara Bowers was back to her brilliant best after a year off, racking up 22 touches and 13 trademark tackles, while returning captain Ange Stannett hit the scoreboard with two crucial goals.

They face a Brisbane side looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking four-point loss to Hawthorn. While a defeat always stings, the Lions were far from disgraced, pushing a team widely tipped as a premiership contender right to the wire.

This clash presents a fantastic challenge for both clubs. The Dockers are clearly a far stronger proposition with their leaders back on the park. However, the Lions are a proud and classy outfit who will be desperate to avoid an 0-2 start. Expect Brisbane's elite talent to rise to the occasion and lead them to a hard-fought win on the road.

Brisbane –6.5

$1.91 (1.5 Units)

Hawthorn vs Carlton

Saturday 7:15pm AEST, Kinetic Stadium

Hawthorn stamped themselves as a genuine premiership contender with a brilliant four-point road win against Brisbane in Round 1. While the victory came at a cost, with classy midfielder Jasmine Fleming sidelined for 4-6 weeks, the Hawks possess impressive depth and will be confident they can cover her absence.

Carlton also started their season with a win, comfortably accounting for Collingwood by four goals. However, it's difficult to gauge the quality of that victory, as the Magpies collected the wooden spoon last season. This match represents a significant step up in class for the Blues.

While the Blues will be determined to prove their win was no fluke, they are coming up against one of the most powerful teams in the competition. The Hawks are a well-drilled, talented, and confident outfit on a clear mission in 2025. Expect them to be far too strong and cruise to a commanding win.

Hawthorn –15.5

$1.88 (2 Units)

Richmond vs Western Bulldogs

Sunday 12:35pm AEST, IKON Park

Both Richmond and the Western Bulldogs will be desperate to open their 2025 accounts in a high-stakes clash after disappointing Round 1 losses.

As a finalist last season, Richmond had higher hopes than their 20-point defeat to the Swans delivered, and they will be demanding a response. Superstar Monique Conti was again a standout in the loss, and the Tigers will look to their champion midfielder to lead them to their first victory.

The Bulldogs endured a horror start, copping a 48-point thrashing from a powerful Melbourne outfit. While the Demons are a top-tier contender, the Bulldogs will need to produce a far more competitive effort to avoid slumping to 0-2.

The Bulldogs will be fired up, but the Tigers simply possess a higher level of talent across the park. Expect a tough contest, but the class of Conti and her teammates should be the difference as Richmond grinds out a crucial win.

Richmond 1-24

$2.25 (1 Unit)

North Melbourne vs Port Adelaide

Sunday 1:05pm AEST, Arden Street Oval

In a rematch of last year's preliminary final, the reigning premiers North Melbourne host a Port Adelaide side desperate to bounce back from a poor start.

The Kangaroos were the benchmark of the competition in their undefeated 2024 campaign and have started this season in the same terrifying form. They looked powerful in their Round 1 victory, dismantling a quality Geelong outfit by five goals to signal they are once again the team to beat.

Meanwhile, the Power had a disappointing start to their season, going down to Fremantle by 22 points. They now face the monumental task of travelling to take on the champions, a team that comprehensively beat them in last year's final.

This looms as a huge challenge for Port Adelaide. North Melbourne's system is elite, their confidence is sky-high, and they look unstoppable on their home deck. Expect the Kangaroos to dominate proceedings and cruise to another commanding victory.

North Melbourne –32.5

$1.88 (1 Unit)

Essendon vs West Coast

Sunday 2:35pm AEST, Windy Hill

Both Essendon and West Coast will be aiming to continue their perfect starts to the season in what shapes as an intriguing Sunday clash.

The Bombers were utterly dominant in Round 1, dismantling the Giants by 56 points. Their star duo of Madi Prespakis (26 disposals, one goal) and captain Bonnie Toogood (two goals) were in sublime form, leading a side that looked powerful and cohesive across the ground.

The Eagles also secured the four points, grinding out a 15-point victory over the Suns. They were carried by a phenomenal performance from superstar Ella Roberts, who was best on ground with 24 touches and two goals, while exciting rookie Lucia Painter lit up the forward line with three majors.

While West Coast possesses genuine match-winners who can break a game open, Essendon's commanding opening-round display suggests they have a deeper well of talent. The Bombers' class edge should be the deciding factor.

Essendon 1-24

$2.25 (1.5 Units)

Adelaide vs Geelong

Sunday 3:05pm AEST, Unley Oval

This shapes as a season-defining clash for two top-four hopefuls desperate to avoid a dreaded 0-2 start.

The Crows are reeling from an alarming 22-point upset loss to St Kilda. Despite dominating many key statistics, their inability to convert on the scoreboard was exposed by a ruthlessly efficient Saints outfit, and a fierce response will be expected.

Geelong also enter the match winless, but their Round 1 performance was far more encouraging. They pushed the reigning premiers North Melbourne for three quarters in a high-quality contest, proving they can match it with the competition's absolute elite.

This sets up a fascinating battle between two sides of similar ability. The Crows will be fired up to atone for a shock loss, while the Cats will be confident after their strong showing. In what looms as a genuine toss-up, expect a tense, hard-fought contest that could go down to the wire.

Geelong +11.5

$1.91 (2 Units)
