Race 3 – Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines BM72 - 1500m (12:35pm AEST)
(2) Columbus – 4YO Gelding who returned stylishly at Newcastle in a BM64 where he won by nearly 2L at a $1.45 quote. Rises in class now, but gets conditions to suit and will find 1550m no issue. J-Mac reunites and will be looking to add another dash to the winning column. Looks hard to beat. On top.
(3) Barking Mad – 4YO Gelding who has returned superbly after having 6 runs for no placings too have returned with back-to-back wins. Chasing a Hatrick now and her last start over 1400m in BM64 was a demolition job. Up in class now but gets a kilo off his back and Nash Rawiller steers. Must be respected.
(5) John Dory – 4YO Gelding who has been frustrating this campaign and has been well supported in most of his runs in similar grade but cannot break through for a second win. Clearly has the ability to compete in this grade, just needs to find a way to break through. Zac Lloyd gets into the saddle for the first time which may be the key. Value.

Race 5 – Congratulations Siena Grima BM78 – 2000m (1:45pm AEST)
(7) Existential Bob – 5YO gelding who was good first up and again third up. Fourth up record is good and has placed twice over this trip previously. At the price he is worth an each way play. Drawn well and gets in nicely with Grima claiming 2kg. Of note the race is named for the jockey, so expect her to be giving this horse a peach. Value.
(9) Cheval De Bois – 4YO gelding who has been progressing nicely this campaign and has finished second in his last two outings. Rock hard fit now fourth up and has already been supported in the early market. 1.5kg claim engaged and will be there abouts.
(10) Horizons – 5YO mare who has been racing well enough this preparation and looks to be edging closer to another victory. She is rock hard fit at her sixth run of the campaign and should be ready to peak over this staying trip. Last start she attracted strong market support over 1800m but was forced to race three-wide through the opening 1000m before Zac Lloyd elected to roll forward and take up the running. Despite the tough run, she fought on courageously to finish second behind SANTONO JASMINE, who enjoyed a much softer passage after also being well supported in betting. It was a performance full of merit and reads better than it looks on paper. She draws a far kinder gate this time, maps to enjoy a much more economical run in transit, and the rise to 2000m looks no issue. She has proven she handles the expected conditions, Zac Lloyd retains the ride, and with even luck she shapes as a genuine winning chance

Race 7 – National Jockeys trust BM78 – 1400m (2:55pm AEST)
(6) Puntin – 5YO gelding who hasn’t returned to his best in his last campaign and again resumed here disappointingly. However, his best form and previous efforts two campaigns ago show he has the ability to give this a shout on his day. Ashley Morgan reunites who has a good record on top. Drawn well and looks a nice value play.
(8) Tarzing – 5YO Gelding who has shown quite the ability in his short 5 race career where he has won 3 and placed on the 2 other occasions. Third up now and strips very fit for this affair. J-Mac gets into the saddle to further boost confidence and albeit drawing barrier 12 the stable have suggested he will try and get into a forward position. All things point to another big run and the one they all need to beat. On top.
(14) Starman – Veteran 8YO who is the roughie of the race at $23.00 and is capable of running a cheeky race here. Yet to win over this trip which is a concern but gets ideal conditions and does enjoy this track. Gets in light with the 2kg claim and may be a blow out hope.
