Week 8 of the NFL season arrives on Monday morning in Australia with the competition approaching its halfway point and several fascinating divisional races beginning to develop. Buffalo and Kansas City remain among the leading contenders in the AFC, while the NFC East has produced plenty of surprises as Philadelphia and Washington struggle to find consistency. With four teams on the bye, we have 12 games to work through across Monday's slate and plenty of betting opportunities to explore.
Our three feature games begin with a potential AFC playoff preview as Lamar Jackson and the Ravens travel to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the Bills. Kansas City then heads to Denver for a crucial AFC West showdown before Sunday Night Football sees the Eagles and Commanders meet in a battle between two desperate NFC East rivals.

NFL Week 8 Monday Betting Tips
Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills
5:00am AEDT
Baltimore heads to Buffalo at 4-3 and is set to welcome back Lamar Jackson after the star quarterback missed time with an ankle injury. Jackson's return is a significant boost for a Ravens offence that has struggled to find consistency without its two-time MVP, particularly against stronger opposition. Derrick Henry remains one of the most dangerous running backs in football, while Baltimore has been particularly effective defending the run, having not allowed an individual running back to reach 100 rushing yards in 21 consecutive games. That defensive strength will be tested against one of the NFL's most productive rushing attacks.
Buffalo enters at 5-1 and continues to boast one of the league's most explosive offences. Josh Allen has been outstanding, while James Cook III ranks second in the NFL with 104.5 rushing yards per game. The Bills have been remarkably efficient moving the football, ranking among the league leaders in points per drive, but their defence remains a significant concern. Buffalo sits near the bottom of the NFL in total defence, scoring defence and passing defence, placing considerable pressure on Allen to consistently outscore opposing teams.
Prediction: This shapes as one of the most entertaining games of Week 8, with two MVP quarterbacks capable of producing points in a hurry. Buffalo has struggled defensively throughout the season, and Jackson's return gives Baltimore the opportunity to exploit those weaknesses both through the air and on the ground. The Ravens have also been vulnerable defensively, particularly against opposing passing attacks, and Allen should have plenty of opportunities to respond. With both offences capable of moving the football consistently, we'll back this game to clear a relatively high total.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos
8:25am AEDT
Kansas City enters this crucial AFC West matchup at 5-1 after suffering a disappointing defeat to Seattle last weekend. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offence have struggled to consistently generate explosive plays, with Mahomes recording the lowest average depth of target of his career. Kenneth Walker III remains a major weapon in the backfield, but Kansas City has also struggled on third down in recent weeks, making it difficult to sustain drives. The Chiefs will be particularly motivated to respond after losing three consecutive games at Mile High Stadium.
Denver has quietly emerged as one of the AFC's strongest defensive teams, sitting at 5-2 after winning three consecutive games. The Broncos have been outstanding defensively, ranking among the league leaders in several efficiency metrics, while the return of Patrick Surtain II provides another significant boost to their secondary. Offensively, Bo Nix has struggled to consistently move the football, although Denver has shown improvement since Sean Payton took over play-calling. The Broncos also have some recent experience containing Kansas City's offence, having already faced the Chiefs earlier this season.
Prediction: This shapes as a defensive battle between two teams that know each other extremely well. Denver's ability to generate pressure and limit explosive passing plays should make life difficult for Mahomes, while Kansas City's defence is well equipped to contain a Broncos offence that has struggled throughout the season. The Chiefs have also seen 10 consecutive games following a defeat finish under the total, and with both teams likely to prioritise field position and ball security, we'll back another low-scoring AFC West contest.

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders
12:20pm AEDT
Philadelphia heads to Washington in desperate need of a victory after suffering five consecutive defeats. The Eagles have been particularly disappointing offensively, with injuries creating major problems throughout the season. Jalen Hurts remains sidelined, leaving Tanner McKee to lead the offence, while Saquon Barkley's return provides some much-needed stability in the backfield. Philadelphia showed encouraging signs against Dallas last weekend before eventually falling 38-21, but its defence continues to struggle against opposing passing attacks and has been unable to consistently generate pressure.
Washington enters at 1-4-1 after its bye week and has also endured a frustrating start to the campaign. Jayden Daniels is gradually finding his rhythm after returning from an elbow injury, producing his best performance of the season against San Francisco with 300 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Commanders will be without Terry McLaurin for the remainder of the season, placing greater responsibility on Stefon Diggs and the supporting receiving group. Defensively, Washington has been particularly vulnerable in the red zone, allowing touchdowns on more than 80% of opposing trips inside the 20.
Prediction: Neither team has done enough this season to inspire complete confidence, but Washington's defensive struggles should give Philadelphia an opportunity to remain competitive despite its injury concerns. McKee has developed a strong connection with Dallas Goedert, who faces a favourable matchup against a Commanders defence that has struggled to contain opposing tight ends. Barkley's return should also provide Philadelphia with more balance offensively, while the Eagles have enough talent defensively to prevent Daniels from completely taking control. With Washington laying more than a field goal, we'll take the points with Philadelphia in what should be another close divisional contest.
