Who We Are
Before You Bet (BYB) is an Australian sports betting information website founded in 2013. We cover sports betting, horse racing, wagering operators, betting markets and other information relevant to Australian punters.
Over more than a decade, the Australian wagering industry has changed considerably. New bookmakers have entered the market, others have disappeared, betting products have evolved and the rules governing wagering advertising and promotions have continued to change.
Our aim is to make that increasingly complex market easier to understand.

Meet the Before You Bet Team
BYB's content is produced and managed by a team with experience across wagering, sports analysis, racing, journalism, media and fantasy sports.
Heath is one of the original founders of Before You Bet and Managing Director of The Trifect Group, which owns and operates BYB. He has worked across wagering and online gaming for more than 20 years, including extensive experience in poker media and publishing, and oversees BYB's operations, business development, affiliate partnerships and editorial team.
Jake has been a major contributor to Before You Bet's sports and fantasy coverage since 2017 and serves as Content Manager, helping plan, coordinate and edit content across the BYB writing team. His primary sporting interests include AFL, basketball and football.
Jack holds a Bachelor of Media and Communications, majoring in Sports Media, and has been part of the Before You Bet writing team since 2019. His specialist interests include cricket, AFL, basketball, NFL and football.
Scooby has more than a decade of experience writing about rugby league for Before You Bet and previously The Profits. His background includes playing and coaching, while his analysis combines that first-hand understanding of the game with statistics, team performance, momentum and match context.
Steve has published tennis previews and analysis for more than a decade, including work with Before You Bet, The Profits and Betfair's The Hub. A physiotherapist by profession and Director of Ace Tennis Previews, he combines statistical analysis with an understanding of the physical and situational factors that can influence professional tennis.
Ben has contributed analysis to Before You Bet across NRL, NFL, Formula 1, football and daily fantasy sports. He has spent years developing statistical sports models and applies that modelling experience to his analysis of sporting events and betting markets.
Andy Rosos
Golf, Cricket, AFL & NFL
Andy is a senior writer and analyst at Before You Bet and has contributed to the site for more than a decade. He holds a degree in sports journalism and has produced hundreds of BYB articles across golf, cricket, AFL, NFL and other sports, with a particular focus on weekly PGA Tour analysis.
Brendan is a qualified journalist and former Hamilton Spectator journalist with more than a decade of experience in sports and racing analysis. His background includes work with TheDogs.com.au and professional experience framing betting markets for corporate bookmakers across thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing.
Shannon grew up around thoroughbred racing, with his father working for Hall of Fame trainer Colin Hayes and later David Hayes. He has developed his own approach to form analysis and has produced racing content for Punters & Collectors and Before You Bet.
Trent has more than a decade of experience writing and analysing racing and sport. He also brings extensive professional wagering-industry experience, including almost eight years framing harness racing markets as an odds compiler.
Ben is a sports journalist and MMA specialist with professional media experience. His UFC and MMA analysis focuses on assessing each contest independently before comparing that assessment with the available betting market.
