North Melbourne vs Adelaide Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2025 Round 24
Kanga Kanga Kanga
A 48 point win over Richmond broke a seven game losing streak for North Melbourne, with Harry Sheezel taking the headlines with a record equalling 54 disposal performance. After leading by just eight points at half time, the Roos slammed on eight goals to one in the third quarter to put the game away, with Paul Curtis kicking 5 goals. Sheezel wasn’t the only North Melbourne midfielder to have a big day, as Luke Davies-Uniacke (40 disposals, 1 goal) and Luke Parker (30 disposals, 6 clearances) helped The Roos hold the ascendancy in the middle of the ground. Although it hasn’t been the improvement many expected from the Roos, they have won five games in a season for the first time since 2019.
Contender Status Confirmed
Week after week the Crows continue to prove their status as a premiership contender, grinding out a stirring three point win over Collingwood last week. Adelaide looked in trouble when the Pies kicked five of the first six goals, but the Crows defence produced a remarkable performance after quarter time, conceding just three more goals. Collingwood had 71 inside 50’s to Adelaide’s 37, but Mark Keane (23 disposals, 8 marks and Josh Worrall (27 disposals, 6 marks) stood tall to keep Collingwood at bay. A win will secure Adelaide’s first minor premiership since 2017, so there’s plenty to play for, although they’ll have to do it without Izak Rankine.
The Stats That Matter
Adelaide’s work at both ends of the ground has been the catalyst to their success in 2025. The Crows are the best defensive outfit in the league this season, conceding just 69 points per game and have only conceded more than 90 points once since Round 5. At the other end of the ground, Adelaide are the third highest scoring team in the AFL, averaging 98 points per game, and have scored over 100 points on twelve occasions. On the other side, the Kangaroos rank 17th for points against and 14th in points scored, leaving a massive discrepancy between the two teams.
The Crows rank 2nd for scores from turnover, 3rd for scores from forward half, 4th for scores from defensive half and 5th for scores from stoppages. Not only do they score from many sources, but they’re also one of the most efficient sides in the competition, ranking third in the AFL for goals per inside 50.
Kangaroos or Crows? Here’s Our North Melbourne vs Adelaide Tip
With Adelaide having so much to play for, needing to win to secure top spot, there won’t be any complacency from Matthew Nicks’ side. Adelaide are 11-0 against the bottom nine teams in the competition, with an average winning margin of 51 points and seven wins by over 10 goals. The conditions under the roof at Marvel will perfectly suit the Crows, who could put up a massive score against a poor North Melbourne defence. Marvel Stadium has been a happy hunting ground of late for the Crows, who have won three straight at Docklands.
Adelaide have had the wood over North since 2021, winning seven straight against the Kangaroos, by an average margin of 48 points. 6 of those 7 wins have come by 36+ points, and the Crows have scored over 100 points in 6 of those 7 games. Although North were good last week, it was only against Richmond, and things could get ugly against an in-form Adelaide side with plenty to play for.

North Melbourne vs Adelaide Prop Bet: Thrillthorpe
Our Best Prop Bet: Thilthorpe 4+ Goals
Riley Thilthrope will be set to feast on a Kangaroos defence that has struggled to contain key forwards all year long. Thilthrope has continued to produce late into the season, kicking 28 goals from his last 8 matches, including a career high 6 goals in his last game at Marvel Stadium. There should be plenty of supply for Thilthrope to have a day out in front of goal.
