BLUEJAYS vs Let us cook
CCT North Europe Series #3
Bluejays failed to impress in their tournament opening match, when they lost against Illuminar Gaming (0-2), but they showed some improvement in the second round, with a 2-1 victory over HONORIS. I wouldn’t praise them too much for that victory, and I can’t look past their 2-7 record over the last nine outings, which includes defeats against Juggernauts, MASONIC, and EYEBALLERS, who bested them on Friday (16-19).
Let us cook is a stack of players that have played only a few games together, including two in CCT North Europe Series #3. They won the first match of the tournament against GenOne (2-0) but then lost against Aurora Gaming (0-2) with 13-16, 11-16.
It’s hard to find any positives from these teams’ past showings, and based on what I’ve seen from them, I struggle to pick a favourite. BLUEJAYS have reached higher highs and a higher ceiling, but they’ve not shown much lately.
We also don’t know much about Let us cook and their potential, but while it’s fair to doubt this team, they’ve looked just as good this past week, yet they’re priced as 2.62 underdogs for this match. This looks a bit too generous, considering they’re set to face a team that has already lost against squads of similar quality. Take Let us cook to hand BLUEJAYS another L.
9INE vs Illuminar Gaming
CCT North Europe Series #3
9INE have yet to lose a game this tournament. They’ve already beaten MOUZ NXT (2-0) and 00 Prospects, quite convincingly, with 16-7, 16-4, and 16-8, 16-12. I wouldn’t say that 9INE are undoubtedly the best team in CCT North Europe Series #3, but they’re definitely in great form.
Illuminar Gaming are also undefeated, with wins against BLUEJAYS (2-0) and EYEBALLERS (2-1). Illuminar also participated in Intel Extreme Masters Spring 2023: European Open Qualifier #1, but they crashed out early, with a 12-16 loss against Spirit Academy, which doesn’t look too promising.
9INE has their ups and downs as well, including a 8-16 defeat against Rapid Ninjas in OMEN WGR Challenger. But outside of that hiccup, 9INE have won five of their last six games, and they got their revenge against the Ninjas on Thursday (16-14, 16-7).
Oddly, the esports bookmakers have priced Illuminar as the favourite for this Polish derby which might not sound too crazy. They have looked solid of late, but so have 9INE, who have shown enough for me to believe they won’t be an easy target.
This is also a match between two regional rivals, confirming my belief that it should be a close match. Over 2.5 maps at 1.85 with PickleBet sounds like the right choice.
00 Prospects vs MOUZ NXT
CCT North Europe Series #3
00 Prospects and MOUZ NXT last met way back in July, when MOUZ NXT won 16-10, but that was when MOUZ were playing with an entirely different roster – most of which ended up joining the main lineup. Since the roster change, MOUZ NXT haven’t been too convincing.
They enter this match with a 5-2 record, wich includes a 4-1 run through the CCT North Europe Series #3 qualifier, where they beat Brugge (2-0, 2-0), and Ungentium (2-0), but lost against Illuminar Gaming (0-2). In the main event, they lost against 9INE (0-2)and won against Young Ninjas (2-1).
00 Prospect hold a similar record (2-3) over their last five matches, with defeats against GamerLegion (1-2), Team Falcons (1-2), and 9INE (0-2), and wins against INVS (2-0) and forZe (2-1).
Results-wise, MOUZ NXT hold a better figure, but against weaker teams, so it’s fair to say that 00 Prospects have shown more. Still, they haven’t beaten any good teams.
This match won’t come down to which team has better players, since they are evenly matched, but it will mostly depend on which squad will step up on the day. With that in mind, I’ll take MOUZ NXT at 2.10 or any odds above evens.
