Caulfield will host Group 2 racing on Saturday with the running of the Sportsbet Peter Young Handicap. Raced over 1800m Buckaroo is the $2.80 favourite before he tries his luck in the Australia Cup two weeks later. It's hard to see the winner not being Buckaroo, Birdman or Light Infantry Man. There was a little bit of rain around on Wednesday but the track should remain a Good 4 for the program, and Race 1 will get underway at 12:15pm (AEDT).

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, March 14th 2026
Race 3: Two Bays Farm VOBIS Gold So Si Bon 1400m - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(2) Enxuto I have tipped his last couple of starts and he has been very good without winning, but now owes us. Two starts back at Flemington over 1400m he was in the second half of the field before running on very well for 3rd. He backed that effort up with a 2nd in the Group 2 Blamey Stakes last start at each-way odds and he ran on that day too. He stays at the trip and he will settle around midfield before trying to put them away late.
(4) Harry’s Yacht has won 7 from 21 and two and this track. He is a genuine Saturday class horse now who loves this trip.
(5) Al Duca loves Good tracks and will go forward in this race. Has had two starts at Caulfield for a 1st and 2nd.
(2) Enxuto WIN
$4.20 (2 units)
Race 8: Sportsbet Peter Young Stakes Group 2 1800m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(2) Buckaroo was scratched last week in preference for this race and even though the seven-year-old hasn’t won in a long time, he is still clearly one of the best horses in this race. He does go okay at this track and did run on well here on February 21 over 1400m and the extra 400m is to his benefit. He has won 3 races when second up and he is a proven Group performer.
(5) Birdman was very impressive winning the Group 2 Blamey Stakes last start after being unlucky when resuming from a break (4th). He is also third up from a spell and will get more fitness as he approaches the Australian Cup.
(7) Chief Little Rock will need further but the stayer could take lengths off them late. Hasn’t raced in a year and a half but the Freedman Team had him winning a Cranburne trial on March 2.
(2) Buckaroo WIN
$2.80 (4 units)
Race 9: The IRT VOBIS Platinum Guineas 1600m - 4:55pm (AEDT)
(12) Salty Pearl ran well behind Sass Appeal here last week when she was in the wrong part of the track and a fair way back on the turn. The blinkers go on again and from barrier 3 she should settle around 4th this time I reckon. Likes Caulfield and another Dry track will suit. Ran a good 2nd here two starts back behind Sheza Alibi. She will carry 56kg and looks well weighted.
(1) Different Gravy is first up after a three month spell and is 1 from 1 at Caulfield. Had two very good wins late in the Spring Carnival and he has won and placed in harder races than this.
(3) Itazura has done all of his racing on Dry tracks and he can run on well in his races. Was 3rd at this track last start and will go back again from barrier 10.
(12) Salty Pearl WIN
$2.40 (4 units)
