NBA Betting Tips: Friday, March 20th 2026

Detroit Pistons at Washington Wizards (10:10am AEDT)

The top seed in the east, the Detroit Pistons (49-19) and the 14th seed, the Washington Wizards (16-52), met just two days ago as the Pistons won 130-117. That loss was the 13th straight for the Wizards who will be hoping for a top five NBA draft pick to pair alongside Anthony Davis and Trae Young next season.

Cade Cunningham went down with a back injury in that game and he will miss this one, along with Isaiah Stewart. For the Wizards, Trae Young is out and they have a big injury list. This isn’t a matter of who wins, clearly it will be Detroit, but a case of what the final margin will be.

The Wizards have shown some good fight against the Golden State Warriors and also the Pistons in recent games. Bub Carrington was enormous in their loss, scoring 30 points, including 6-8 from deep. This isn’t a game where the Pistons need to make a statement, so I think the Wizards with a +16.0 line appeals.

Wizards +16.0

$1.92 (1.5 Units)

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs (11:10am AEDT)

The Phoenix Suns (39-30) are on the road against the San Antonio Spurs (51-18) and it will be a shorthanded Suns outfit with Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams out, while Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale are game-time decisions. The Spurs on the other hand are healthy and gearing up for a postseason run.

Victor Wembanyama is living up to the hype he had prior to being drafted number one, and this franchise generally just wins championships with their number one picks. In his third season, Wemby is averaging 24.2 points per game, 11.1 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. They have a phenomenal roster with De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Dylan Harper, Julian Champagnie and Harrison Barnes all averaging more than 10 points per game. With so many offensive options, it is easy to see why this team is hard to slow down – the Spurs rank fourth in offensive rating. They also rank third defensively. The Suns play a very slow brand of basketball, which gives the Spurs defenders ample time for their defensive assignments.

On paper, there is too much of a gap between talent between the two sides, combined with the Suns injuries. The Spurs smashed the Suns 121-94 in their previous matchup and a double-digit victory looks to be on the cards.

Spurs -9.5

$1.90 (2 Units)

Philadelphia 76ers at Sacramento Kings (1:10pm AEDT)

The Philadelphia 76ers (37-32) are hoping to be there in the postseason while the Sacramento Kings (18-52) are having a write-off season with the likes of Domantas Sabonis and Zac LaVine out for the season.  Philadelphia will be without Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Joel Embiid is doubtful to play.

Both teams come off horrible losses and the Sixers are likely to go deep into their rotation. Former NBA champion and six-time All-Star Kyle Lowry saw a rare appearance, playing 18 minutes where he was scoreless. It will be a great opportunity for rookie VJ Edgecombe to be more aggressive offensively.

With home court advantage and veteran leaders such as Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan, the Kings should give the Sixers a big run for their money and they appeal as underdogs in this contest.

Kings +4.5
