Wyong Racing Tips: Wednesday March 18th 2026

March 17th 2026, 1:17pm, By: Trent Orwin

Wyong Racing Tips

Wyong hosts midweek racing in New South Wales with eight races scheduled on the program. There are three Benchmark 78 Handicaps on the card, showcasing some up-and-coming talent. The first race jumps at 1:45pm (AEDT) and the rail will be out +3 metres for the entire circuit. The track is currently a Soft 5 and there is rain predicted on race day. Below, we bring you our best bets for the day!

Ladbrokes

Wyong Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 18th 2026

Race 3: Coast Community News Handicap 1600m – 2:55pm (AEDT)

(4) Almaaz looks ready to break her maiden status after an excellent second at Rosehill Gardens in a Super Maiden over 1500m. James McDonald retains the ride for trainer Chris Waller. Prior to that, the three-year-old filly was third at this track over 1350m and the sectionals were better on that occasion. The first try at the mile looks suitable and she should prove hard to beat.

(2) Nordic Viking is a John Sergeant-trained three-year-old gelding that is slowly getting fitter with two runs under the belt. This race on paper looks more suitable than last start and he should get a gun run from barrier four with Alysha Collett in the saddle. Each-way claims in this line up.

(3) Decalogue resumed with a fifth placing in the same race that Almaaz contested. He finished around 2.5 lengths behind her after being beaten on his merits. He races better second up and will be ahead of her again in the run. Should show improvement in this.

(4) Almaaz WIN

$2.35 (2.5 Units)

Race 5: Central Coast Coolrooms Handicap 2100m – 4:05pm (AEDT)

(5) Cormac T is third-up from a spell and starting to get out in distance which suits the son of Nathaniel. He likes a bit of sting out of the track, so any rain will be a welcome addition for the Annabel and Rob Archibald-trained gelding. It has been 46 days since his last run which is why he has trialled recently. If he can bring some of his spring form to the table, he will prove hard to beat in this race.

(4) Stylebender has won back-to-back races and from the good gate, should either lead or sit in second in the run. Apprentice Mollie Fitzgerald continues to ride the Kristen Buchanan-trained gelding who should relish the 56.5kg weight after the claim. Will go close to making it a hat-trick of victories.

(6) Mirzann is a stayer that raced well below his best trip in both runs this campaign, the latest over the mile when fourth which was a really good effort. He was warming to the task late racing in between runners and hit the line full of running. The main knock is two wins from 16 starts but has each-way claims.

(5) Cormac T WIN

$4.60 (1.5 Units)

Race 8: Encore By Mingara Handicap 1350m – 5:50pm (AEDT)

(2) Maybe Moet has been excellent in three runs this campaign, winning two starts back by three lengths as an odds-on favourite. She was runner up in the other two, including the latest when narrowly beaten by Mercy Me in this grade. She carries 61kg which looks fine considering she carried that weight in her victory, and then 60kg last start. It is worth noting that she has been scratched from Race 7 where she was a dual acceptor for the meeting. Hopefully she doesn’t get too far back in the run considering it is a field of 12 (ignoring emergencies).

(7) Jaegars was plain at her resumption but can be expected to race a lot better here second up. Still have a query about her on a soft surface though. No jockey listed yet for her but if she runs, they will likely press forward from the wide gate. Some of her runs last preparation were better than anything this field has produced. Each-way claims.

(10) Seastraand captured a Class 1 at Hawkesbury last start and steps up in grade to tackle this Benchmark 72 Handicap. It was a great performance and she should be up on the speed. Will not be a surprise if she’s fighting out the finish at good odds, so happy to have something small on her too.

Also backing: (10) Seastraand WIN $12.00 (0.5 Units)

(2) Maybe Moet WIN

$2.90 (2 Units)
