2021 AFL Round 3 Tips

(Odds correct as of Monday, March 29th)

Thursday April 1st

Lions vs Magpies

The Lions were supposed to host this game at the Gabba on Thursday night but due to the most recent COVID issues in Queensland, the game has been moved to Marvel Stadium. The Lions will still act as 'hosts' of the game, while Collingwood will 'host' an away game at the Gabba later this season. Odds are yet to be released for the game, but the Lions should start as favourites despite starting the season 0-2.

Friday April 2nd

Roos vs Bulldogs

The clash between the Kangaroos and Western Bulldogs on Good Friday has become a staple in the AFL fixture but this year it has the chance to be a bit of a snooze-fest. The Bulldogs have started the season hot, winning both of their games while the Kangaroos have been absolutely trounced in both of theirs and sit on the bottom of the AFL ladder.

Crows vs Suns

The Crows were gallant in defeat to the Swans in Round 2 on the back of another big performance by key forward Taylor Walker. They will square off against the Suns in the second game of Good Friday after the Gold Coast recorded their first win of the season in Round 2 against the Kangaroos.

Saturday April 3rd

Tigers vs Swans

Massive clash here between the reigning premiers in the Tigers and the surprise 2-0 team in teh Sydney Swans. The Swans have won against the Lions and Crows so far but will get a chance to add the biggest scalp in the AFL to their hit-list on Saturday afternoon. Good value early in the week for the Swans if you fancy them, opening at $3.73.

bombers vs saints

The Bombers were unlucky not to get over the line in Round 1 against the Hawks but were taught a lesson in Adelaide against the Power in Roud 2. They are one of five teams still to record a win and come up against the Saints on Saturday afternoon. The Saints will be desperate to bounce back from a super disappointing effort against the Demons in 'Spud's Game'.

Eagles vs Power

The Eagles will be disappointed they couldn't get over the line against the Dogs in a thrilling match in Round 2, and they have another extremely tough game coming up on the weekend as they face the top of the ladder Port Adelaide Power. After comfortable wins over the two last placed teams on the ladder, the Power should get their first real test of the season this week when they travel to Optus Stadium.

Sunday April 4th

Blues vs Dockers

Tough start to the season for Blues fans as Carlton once again start the year with an 0-2 record. They have faced some pretty solid teams in the Tigers and Magpies and been competitve in both games, but when it matters most they just haven't been able to get the job done. They'll face a Dockers team that captured their first win of the season against the Giants in Round 2.

giants vs demons

The Giants have started the season with two losses and face off against a Demons team that is 2-0 after good wins against Fremantle and St Kilda. Melbourne start as favourites on the road in Sydney and rightfully so given their start to the year.

Monday April 5th

Cats vs Hawks

The annual Easter Monday clah between old rivals Geelong and Hawthorn will headline the schedule in Round 3 this season. The Hawks got their year off to a good start with a win over the Bombers but were handled comfortably by the Tigers in Round 2. For the Cats, it was the opposite, losing in Round 1 against the Crows before bouncing back with a controversial win against the Lions on Friday night.
