The GROUP 1 Australian Cup highlights a great day of racing at Flemington on Saturday with the prestigious race to be run over 2000m. The main race will be race eight on the program and will start at 4:15pm (AEDT). The favourite for the race is the Chris Waller trained Birdman, while the Anthony&Sam Freedman trained Tom Kitten is second favourite after winning the All-Star Mile at Flemington on March 7. At this stage the track is Good but a Soft track is a chance with rain forecast on Thursday and Friday.
The first race of 10 races at Flemington starts at 12:15pm (AEDT), and all of the races have been covered below!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, March 28th 2026
Race 1: TAB We’re On 1100m - 12:15pm (AEDT)
(5) She’s An Artist picks herself really and should get us a small profit to start the day. She had no luck two starts back at Caulfield but still won before running a good 2nd here on March 7 behind Verdoux who has since won again.
(6) Eagle Express was 6th behind Gangsta Granny at Randwick last start and is fitter now. Has drawn inside though and we don’t know what side of the straight the horses will come down.
(3) Gentle Steel has won 5 from 8 starts. She is a front runner and has already won 2 races over this distance.
(5) She’s An Artist WIN
$1.50 (4 units)
Race 2: York Plate 1400m - 12:45pm (AEDT)
(11) Exit is fourth up from a spell and will need to show her best now. Goes back to the 1400m after she failed to finish off for WIllow last start and Jamie Melham gets the ride this time. Two starts back she was over 1400m and ran on pretty well behind Sheza Alibi for 5th and there is no horse of that talent in this race.
(6) Wise Inlaw ran an improved race for 4th at Hillside last start. Drawn well in 4 for Luke Nolen and should get a nice run in transit. A Soft track may help.
(1) Burma Star has drawn poorly in 12 but is 1 from 1 over the 1400m at Flemington. Is 2nd up and has won 2nd up previously.
(11) Exit WIN
$7.00 (1 unit)
Race 3: TBV Breeders Thoroughbred Breeders Stake Group 3 1200m - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(5) Satona Glow has the ability to run on very well in her races and she proved that on debut at Warwick Farm when she won. That was over 1000m and there were only 6 horses in the race but the extra 200m looks as though it will suit.
(4) Jadzia was 2nd on debut to talented Medicinal and Jordan Childs stays on. Ran on quite well (1000m) on that occasion.
(1) Gin Twist won last start at this track after leading. There are a few strong ones late so she will need to pace to be slow so she can kick away at the end.
(5) Satona Glow WIN
$3.80 (2 units)
Race 4: Glorious Goodwood Handicap 1100m - 1:55pm (AEDT)
(6) Stolli Bolli is a bit of a tease but is one of the best horses in this race. Has only won 2 from 14 and has been fancied on a few occasions but he won a Pakenham trial on March 17 so hopefully he is at his best again. Ran a 3rd when we were on at The Valley when she was first up last prep.
(3) Rue De Royale is another tease really and we have been on him a couple of times this prep. He has been settling on speed lately and his last couple have been close 2nds.
(9) Salsa Fellow is consistent and has drawn inside. If the straight is the place to be then he can win at double figure odds.
(6) Stolli Bolli WIN
$4.00 (2 units)
Race 5: The Curragh, Where Champions Are Made, Handicap 2000m - 2:30pm (AEDT)
(14) Zakouma has barrier 12 but went back from barrier 11 last start and won well on a Good track at Hillside. He drops 4.5kg and has Willy Pike on for the first time. Hasn’t placed over this distance yet but looks the one to beat despite being short in the market.
(5) Ambassadorial has drawn poorly in 15 and may want to roll forward which could be tough.
(3) Foujita San at his best is good. He is inconsistent however and an each-way play is needed. Did run on well last start at Caulfield though and he almost won.
(14) Zakouma WIN
$2.60 (3 units)
Race 6: VRC Sprint Classic 1100m - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(5) My Gladiola should get a truly run race here which will allow her to wind up late. Jamie Mott knows her very well and My Gladiola has never missed a placing over the 1100m. Hopefully for her backers they are coming down the outside.
(10) Educated won well last start when 2nd fav at this track and has since won a jumpout at Cranbourne. Unbeaten filly who has always been ridden by Celine Gaudray.
(3) Gallo Nero is a rough chance if they are coming down the outside. Hasn’t won in ages but might go well if it's a Soft track as well.
(5) My Gladiola WIN
$2.50 (3 units)
Race 7: Lexus Roy Higgins 2600m - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(13) Litzdeel ran on very well at Flemington last start (2nd) when only two horses ran on as good as he did on a day where on speed horses were favoured. The step up to 2600m looks ideal and he drops another kilogram but WIllow stays on. The Dundeel x Geblitz bred mare is bred to get 3000m and I think she can go well in the Spring.
(3) Whisky On The Hill gets Damien Lane on again for this and will find this race a little easier. He is proven over this distance and is fully fit now.
(6) Desert Hero goes good second up and may like a Soft track. Second start for the Cairon Maher stable and he gets his second look at Flemington here.
(13) Litzdeel WIN
$2.70 (3 units)
Race 8: TAB Australia Cup GROUP 1 2000m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(8) Pride Of Jenni was gone at the 200m last start at Flemington in the All-Star Mile when 3rd but battled on well to be only beaten by half a length. This has been her main goal for the campaign and obviously she will go forward again as she usually does. She hasn’t been leading the pack by as much lately so it will be interesting to see what Declan Bates does.
(10) Leica Lucy hasn’t won in a year but has been running on okay without placing. She will likely be 10L off Pride Of Jenni on the bend but can motor home. Is 1 from 1 over the 2000m.
(12) Philia has been very good her last couple and was only a head away from a placing last start against Treasurethe moment in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes. Was 51-1 at time of typing.
(8) Pride Of Jenni WIN
$4.80 (2 units)
Race 9: ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap 1000m - 4:55pm (AEDT)
(13) Grand Larceny is resuming and his first up form is mixed. Won a Flemington jumpout on March 20 and has won 3 races over this distance. Last win was at Flemington over 1100m when hopefully followers were on.
(8) Celerity has drawn inside so will want the rails to be the place to be. Enjoys Good tracks and has a first and second to her name from 2 starts at Flemington.
(3) MIdwest likes Dry tracks and will be one of the leaders. Never missed a placing at this track.
(13) Grand Larceny WIN
$6.50 (1 unit)
Race 10: Royal Ascot Handicap 1600m - 5:35pm (AEDT)
(11) Justadeel has drawn well and has dropped 3.5kg for this race. Was beaten a nose in the Echuca Cup after hitting the line well and the extra 200m will suit because he has already won 2 over the mile. Is 1 from 2 over the track and distance and he is a very consistent gelding for the Hayes team.
(6) Enxuto is better on a Dry track so will want the rain to stay away on Friday and Saturday. Is very consistent and should have already won a couple this campaign. Is a Group placegetter and this is easier.
(1) Cafe Millenium is running well who can still run on well despite a big weight. Likes the track but isn’t proven over the distance.
(11) Justadeel WIN
$5.00 (2 units)
