Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday October 14th

October 13th 2023, 4:22pm, By: Shannon Buckley

Eagle Farm Racing Tips

There’s racing at Eagle Farm once again this weekend! Shannon Buckley has done the form and made his selections anticipating a GOOD track. The rail is out 0.5m the entirety after being out 6m last week when it was no disadvantage being on-speed / near the fence – expecting a more even playing field today – watch and monitor for any pattern if possible.

Also, make sure to head over to our Racing Tips page for more best bets for the key programs around the country this Saturday!

Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday, October 14th 2023

Race 1: Ladbrokes Surge BM80 2200m at 12:38pm AEDT

(4) ENUFF HE SAID ($7.50/$2.10) – looks a great e/w bet early on the card. He’s building nicely this prep and I think the extra trip out to 2200m looks ideal. He’s gone enormous two-back when he was 3-wide the trip over 1800m and near last turning for home before getting one from the outside and running over the top of them (he was the strongest late / terrific run). He then went to the Listed Toowoomba Cup LS and was shuffled back mid-race before extricating on straightening for home and hitting the line nicely (no disadvantage on-speed / near the fence that day / best of the closers / held-up key stage). He has form around BEAFORT PARK which ties in with FIFTH POSITION and OSTERMEIER who has form around NAMAKWA and SAVVY LAD. I think he can run well at the price (1 unit e/w)

(6) LITTLE MIX ($2.50) – Early market favourite who has placed twice this prep and gets fourth up today back in grade. Should be able to play a role here. Open race which is steering me off the short price. Prefer to watch this time.

(4) ENUFF SAID - E/W

$7.50/$2.10 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Eva Air Plate Class 3 1300m at 2:58pm AEDT

(3) MICRO ($7.00/$2.70) – another nice value play at e/w odds. Brilliant return first-up over 1200m when he was inconvenienced on jumping and was then crowded for room shortly after (had to ease off heels and go back to equal last). He ended up getting to the outside and hitting the line hard to run second behind POCKET FULL (since won again last week / beat home OUTLAWED who ties in with APRIL IN AUGUSTA, ARGYLE PINK, MISS TAMBO et al). Second up last prep he sat off a genuine tempo, took off a long way from home and won by 4.5L (albeit in Class 1 grade). Draws a nice gate for Bubba Tilley to keep him out of trouble midfield and produce him down the outside. Extra 100m no issue and goes best on top of the ground. He’ll be launching late (1 unit e/w)

(15) MISS TAMBO ($11 / $3.50) – 5YO mare who has been close on her two attempts over this trip. Third up today now, so should be primed for this run now. Back in grade here too should help. Each way price.

(3) MICRO - E/W

$7/$2.70 (1 Unit)

Race 9: Drink wise Plate Class 6 1200m at 5:43pm AEDT

(6) EKATERINA ($3.90) – big watch on the market with this mare – if the support arrives, I’ll be very keen! She was well supported first-up and ran too bad to be true. No surprise to read she was found to be lame in the off fore in the steward’s report (forgive!). She has a perfect record second-up and possesses a TOF that not many horses have. Draws the pole and gets a senior rider up. I don’t think she has to get so far back in the run from that gate and there looks to be good speed on paper. She’s produced some excellent runs at this track/trip including her last start at the end of her last prep when she came from the rear of the field before the corner, got to the outside and beat GHANAATI by a length with big gaps behind. Goes well on dry ground and gets in well at the weights under ‘set weight’ conditions. Expecting her to improve sharply (2 units win)

(11) KIR ROYALE ($4) – 5YO mare who won well two back and then failed at Toowomba. Back to 1200m and should still be rock hard fit and gets half a kilo off that dominant win two back. Goes well.

(6) EKATERINA - WIN

$3.90 (2 Units)
