West Coast vs North Melbourne Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 2
More Pain for Eagles Fans
West Coast returns to Optus Stadium for their first home game of the year this Sunday afternoon desperate to make amends. The Eagles endured a miserable start to their 2026 campaign last week when they were completely outclassed by the Gold Coast Suns to the tune of 59 points. Andrew McQualter will be bitterly disappointed with how easily his defence was picked apart in the first half. They face a massive challenge trying to rebuild their confidence in front of the Perth faithful. In interesting team news, Josh Lindsay was omitted despite showing some promise in his debut game last weekend.
Are North Ready to Ascend?
North Melbourne could not have dreamed of a better opening to their season. They absolutely stunned Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium last Sunday with a massive 46 point victory. Alastair Clarkson look to have this young group playing with immense belief and freedom to being the campaign. Harry Sheezel picked up exactly where he left off last year with 31 disposals while Luke Davies Uniacke was incredibly powerful around the stoppages. New captain Nick Larkey also enjoyed the silver service and slotted four goals to get his year rolling.
Recent H2H History
North Melbourne claimed the four premiership points when they last crossed paths in round 14 of the 2025 season. That match was played in Bunbury at Hands Oval and produced a thrilling finish. West Coast actually held an 18 point advantage early in the final term before the Kangaroos stormed home with three late goals to steal a 10 point win. That result will undoubtedly be fresh in the minds of the Eagles playing group. Over the last five games, the Kangaroos hold a 3-2 advantage.
Eagles or North? Here’s Our Best Bet!
The Kangaroos have the momentum right now after a big win last week and possess a midfield unit that can really expose the Eagles. While the long flight to Western Australia is always a difficult hurdle this current North Melbourne side looks good enough to handle it. West Coast might find some early energy from their home crowd but keeping pace for four full quarters looks beyond them based on last week. The visitors should simply have too much class and running power on the outside. The smart play is taking the Kangaroos minus 12.5 to comfortably cover the spread.
North Melbourne -12.5

West Coast vs North Melbourne Prop Bet
Nick Larkey kicked four goals in Round 1 against the Power and has now kicked 5, 5, 3, and 4 in his last four AFL matches. He should enjoy something close to a career-best haul this year now that North finally look to be on the improve. On Sunday he gets a look at the worst defence in the competition, so I’m expecting a big day out for Larkey who has kicked bags of 5 and 6 over the past five games against them.
Nick Larkey 4+ Goals

West Coast vs North Melbourne Same Game Multi
Nick Larkey 3+ Goals: See reasoning above in our prop bet. Just going for 3 in our SGM for a bit more safety.
Harry Sheezel 30+ Disposals: Had 31 touches against the Power last week to pick up right where he left off last campaign. Should have another big game here.
Luke Davies-Uniacke 25+ Disposals: Was awesome against the Power last week despite only having 24 touches, and I’m expecting an even bigger performance from him against the lacklustre Eagles midfield.
