Horse Racing returns to the country circuit on Wednesday as Sale Racing Club hosts an eight-race card, with plenty of quality horses set to go around. A Soft 5 track is on offer with the first race getting us underway at 12:25pm (AEST).

Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 2nd 2023
Race 3: Ladbrokes HUB Maiden Plate – 1:35pm (AEST)
(1) Royalz has drawn poorly in barrier 16 but i think she looks a class above this lot. She settled nicely when beaten a nose at Geelong last start and a couple of horses in that race have looked good since. She will likely sit handy again and Dan Stackhouse will benefit from his second race above the Almanzor mare. She seems to handle all surfaces and the Hayes team think she goes alright. Will be favourite.
(8) Juelene has drawn the inside and just might get a cushy run in this. She hasn’t placed yet but if she saves ground she could run home on the inside at the end.
(4) Go Woody jumped out well at Mornington when running 2nd twice recently. Will be running on and will be better over more ground.
(2) Enzo won a Cranbourne jumpout leading into this and must be respected.
(1) Royalz - WIN

Race 5: Ladbrokes Racing Club Handicap – 2:45pm (AEST)
(1) Dodgy One got done by a nose last start at Pakenham and should find this race easier here. He usually does settle up there and he does like this track and has won over this distance twice previously. On June 22 he won on the Heavy so any rain on race morning would be advantageous. Luke Campbell is back on top and he has won on him twice before.
(2) Themoonlightgambler has been well beaten his last couple but that was in harder races than this. He hasn’t won in a while but has placed in Listed company previously.
(3) The Cunning Fox has drawn well in 3 and will want no rain in the lead up. He is fit and he has won over this distance
(5) Reservoir Dog is hit and miss but is another who has raced in higher grades than this. A little rain on race morning won’t hurt.
(1) Dodgy One - WIN

Race 6: Ladbrokes Live Betting Handicap – 3:20pm (AEST)
(3) Insulation will settle on speed and be in this for a long way with Nolen on top. He has got a good turn of foot and this is an easier race than he has raced in previously. He was unplaced when second up last prep but you get the feeling that the Moody/Coleman team think there might be a Spring win in this one. Looks a bit better than the others.
(9) It’s True hit the lead very late but got tired over the last 50m when 2nd last start and will be better for that outing. He is on the quick back up and can challenge.
(2) Girello has drawn okay (1) but that have ordinary form on the Soft. He won well at Moe last start and has to be in the top 3 selections.
(6) Diamond Discovery is an interesting runner. He has never raced on Soft ground and was tried in a Listed race last prep. Stable thinks he's up to it.
(3) Insulation - Win

Race 8: Ladbroke It Handicap – 4:30pm (AEST)
(12) Audrey Grace is first up here but has done enough in two jumpouts where she looked quite good. Before the spell she was in fine form, winning and placing when settling in the top 4 on all occasions. Mertens keeps the ride and he knows her well and has won on her before. She keeps drawing good barriers which helps and she has drawn well again here with barrier 5.
(8) Vankukla is another who has drawn well (2) but he does get back a bit so will need luck in running.
(5) Full Blown has won over this distance and did win a Flemington jumpout leading into this.
(3) Field Of Praise led when 2nd at Bendigo last start but he has never raced on the Soft before.
