Hawkesbury Racing Tips: Saturday, May 3rd 2025
Race 4: Claredon Tavern BM78 – 1100m – 1:05pm (AEST)
(1) Spanish Fox $7.00/$2.30: 4YO Gelding who boasts an impressive record with only missing the trifecta on two occasions. He was flying last preparation where he stacked up five wins in a row. He resumes today and come into this off two trials where he looked to be in nice shape. He rates well against the others here with the handy 2kg claim engaged and in saying that Zac Wadick has steered this fella on three occasions and won each time. He draws barrier 5 and maps to be able to lead which is where he can dictate the speed to his liking and hopefully pinch this in the conditions. Has already been pushed $20 into $8.50 which boosts confidence. Takes catching
(3) Iron Man $4.00: The favourite of the field who returned nicely and probably should’ve finished closer if he had more room to get out in the concluding stages. Proven second up and goes well on the wet track which puts him right in this. Market support suggests he is going to run a big race here.
(4) World Alliance $4.80: 5YO Gelding who has had a freshen up and loves this track. Maps nicely and gets in well at the weights with Anna Roper claiming 2kg. Consider
(1) Spanish Fox E/W
$7.00/$2.30 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Elite Sand & Soil Hawkesbury Guineas - 1400m – 2:15pm (AEST)
(1) Pisces $20/$4.80: 3YO Gelding who has had minimal luck with wide draws in both return runs. She has boasted some nice late sectionals on both occasions and with a handy barrier this time round he will be a sniff. Proven wet tracker and goes well over this trip. Blow out hope.
(2) Snitzanova $7.00/$2.50: Resuming 3YO Filly who was fantastic last preparation winning the Group 3 NZ Bloodstock Spring Stakes and the Group 2 Sandown Guineas before finishing 4L off them in the $3million 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast. Spelled after that and has had the one trial leading into this which was impressive on the heavy deck. She is a proven wet tracker and with the trial under her belt id expect her to be fit enough to tackle 1400m first up. She won over this trip second up last time in to break maiden and has showed she is a talented type since. She rates nicely and with a little luck from barrier 8 id hope for her to get a nice position midfield with cover, but not too far off them with the heavy track predicted. She has a nice turn of foot and she will be hooning late here.
(9) Media World $8.50/$2.80: 3YO Colt who won the Clarendon last year and returned nicely this time round with a strong first up win. Strips fitter and maps well to dictate if he can jump from the wide draw. Value.
(2) Snitzanova E/W
$7.00/$2.50 (1U/2U)
Race 9: Hawkesbury XXXX Gold Rush - 1100m – 4:05pm (AEST)
(1) Dragonstone $7.00/$2.50: 6YO Gelding who we tipped last start and he missed the kick which ended up being costly given the slow tempo. Still impressed by the way he hit the line. He is rock hard fit and has a handy wet track record along with consistency over this trip. Must be considered again.
(4) Bubbas Bay $10/$3.30: 5YO Mare who is a very honest type and has a rather impressive CV. She has trialled the house down winning both of her trials nicely and the runners up in both trials have since gone out and won. She looks a treat and ready to break first up maiden. She is a proven track/trip winner, handles the wet and draws a nice alley for this. If she jumps well she will be able to dictate the race to her liking and she is good enough to lead and win over 1100m. If she happens to settle in behind them she can also run on when required. There appears to be quite a bit of speed on paper, so if she happens to settle in behind it might be even better suited for her to round them up. Talented type and happy to be on at the price.
(14) Celui $5.00/$2.10: 4YO Gelding who was very nice first up winning when having to lug 63kg. Tackled 1200m second up only finished less than a length off in BM88 class. Third up now where he is a proven winner and has a decent record when on the weather effected tracks. Draws a nice alley and gets K-Mac into the saddle. Drops back to 1100m now where he is yet to score, but must be considered on his two return runs and probably deserves to be favourite.
(4) Bubbas Bay
$10/$3.30 (1 Unit)
