Ipswich Racing Tips: Saturday, June 20th 2026
Race 7 – The TAB Ipswich Cup - 2150m (3:17pm AEST)
(1) Golden Path – 6YO Gelding who hasn’t been up to his best this campaign but will only be fitter again for this run and drops back to Listed company now. Gets a nice booking of Ben Thompson and if he is back to his best, he gives this a shake. Sticky gate though. One for the exotics.
(4) Belvedere Boys – 6YO gelding who has been sound in all his four runs this prep and has had a few excuses, but I liked the way he hit the line after being held up in his past two. He should be rock hard fit now and with a little luck, he can run on without having any trouble and pick these up. Conditions will suit, ready to fire.
(14) Cavalry Man – 5YO Grey gelding who we were with last start, and it was a very easy watch for punters. Runs prior he had excuses with no luck when running on. Will have to lift again now with the rise in grade but can absolutely play a role. Goes well.
(4) Belvedere Boys WIN
$3.90 (2 Units)
Race 8 – Barrier Reef Pools Eye Liner Stakes – 1350m (3:52pm AEST)
(2) Cifrado – 5YO Gelding who has returned in good order with a Listed win first up over 1200m and then second up was only narrowly denied in Group 3 company. Drops back to listed grade now and only gets an extra kilo on his back. Third up record is sound, jockey/horse combo is excellent, and he loves this track. At the current quote of $10.00 he looks a great bet. Each way all day.
(9) Boomtown Boss – 4YO Gelding who was sound when resuming before having minimal luck second up, but then again was sound last start when finding the line nicely. Strips fitter again now and the extra trip looks to suit. Talented type and will play a role here. Each way chance.
(17) John Rambo – 6YO Gelding who was frustrating last campaign, but then produced an enormous run to close out his campaign winning by 3L and would’ve enticed punters back in. Resumes today and has a nice first up record. Draws well and will have plenty of admirers here.
(2) Cifrado E/W
$10/$3.10 (1U/2U)
Race 9 – Fertpro Gai Waterhouse Classic – 1200m (4:30pm AEST)
(3) Cigar Flick – 5YO Mare who can be hard to catch and doesn’t win out of turn, but her first up run was very good, but then only fair last start over this trip. Generally, improves third up and with the handy draw and conditions to suit, she has to be considered. Blow out hope.
(16) Silver Wedding – 4YO Mare who resumed in very good fashion winning a 1000m sprint in BM85 grade by 2.5L. Maher stable is going well and although her second up record and record over the trip is poor, she looks to have returned in superb order, so happy to look past those statistics and give her another crack off that first up performance. Wet weather will suit and she will have admirers. Happy to be on.
(16) Silver Wedding WIN
$4.80 (1.5 Units)
