Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday June 27th 2026

June 26th 2026, 2:43pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Caulfield Racing Tips

Caulfield is the venue for Saturday Racing in the city of Melbourne this weekend and the two year olds start us off at 11:50am (AEST). After a cool week in Melbourne the track is likely to be a Soft6 or Soft7 and the quaddie starts at 2:55pm (AEST).

It’s just a fair program but there are still winners to be found. There are a few horses stretching their legs out before they plot a Spring campaign so it will be interesting to see how they go, while the Winter gallopers will still appreciate the best horses still being in the paddock. My three best bets of the day are below, with all of them 'run on' types so hopefully the track is playing even!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, June 27th 2026

Race 2: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives 1100m - 12:25pm (AEST)

(12) Next Stop Iowa is unbeaten on Soft and Heavy tracks and is all but sure to get one of these surfaces here. She got well back at Mornington last start and won very well and that is hard to do on that track. This is her toughest race yet but with a 3kg claim for Dakota Keane she will appreciate carrying no weight. From barrier 3 will get back again and will be one of the best late.

(8) Delicate Lady has drawn wide in 11 and it will be interesting to see what Jamie Mott will do because she normally settles midfield. In-form mare who has raced very well on Soft ground her last 2 starts.

(5) Biancelli was backed to win first up at Morphetville (3rd) and she gets the tongue tie on for the first time. Won’t mind a track upgrade to a Soft5.

(12) Next Stop Iowa - WIN

$3.00 (2 units)

Race 8: Quayclean Handicap 1400m - 4:05pm (AEST)

(7) Big Swinger has been mixing his form this year but he does go well at Caulfield. Before a freshen up he ran on very well at Hillside for 3rd and he has been scratched twice since. Ben Allen is on top again and he goes well on this guy. From barrier 8 I think he may settle midfield on the outside in this race and he should get every chance. Has been in the money 3 of 4 starts over the 1400m.

(10) Fancify was beaten a head at Swan Hill on June 5 and that was on a Soft6 which he will likely get here. He has won half of his career starts over this distance. Barrier 16 is the worry.

(17) Hell Rip ran on well from midfield to finish 2nd at Flemington last start. He drops 2kg here and he has drawn well in barrier 2. Has never placed at Caulfield though.

(7) Big Swinger - WIN

$4.20 (2 units)

Race 9: Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1100m - 4:40pm (AEST)

(14) Landmark ran a very good race at this track 3 starts back on April 29. On that occasion he carried 61kg and this time he only carries 54kg after 2 solid efforts since. He is up in distance again and is up in class but he has won over the 1100m before. Will be fully fit now and gets the blinkers on. Will get back and will be running on well at the end.

(9) King Ya Cheer is 2 from 2 over the 1100m. He won well at Swan Hill last start and he is drawn (5) to get a good run again. This is his toughest race yet but he is rarely far from the winners and is a previous Caulfield winner.

(7) Steel Move goes very well 2nd up and did put in a good run at Swan Hill last start when 3rd after running on after a fast tempo. Does have to carry 5.5kg extra this time though. Goes well on Soft tracks.

(14) Landmark - Each-Way

$9.50/$3.40 (0.50 units)
