Happy Valley hosts the G3 January Cup tonight which is the feature race 7 on the card. It’s a competitive and exciting race card which makes it difficult to be supremely confident in anything at short odds.

Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday January 11th
Race 1
(1) Exuberant ran well last start and is one of the best horses in this field. He’s got Hugh Bowman aboard here and is drawn neutrally in gate 7. Can run well at an e/w price.
(9) Prime Mortar stepped it up last time after a few lacklustre performances and can continue that improved form here.
(3) Cool Blue wasn’t exceptional on debut but got the pass mark. He’s sure to improve now with that race under the belt and can have an impact on this race.

Race 2
(5) Sunny Baby has flashed home for 5th place in his last 2 starts. He’s had a horrible run of barrier draws but gets gate 3 tonight with Zac Purton aboard. He’ll appreciate a softer run and with luck should be right in this.
(1) Regency Master placed last time over the 1650m and should handle the step to 1800m tonight. The class drop has definitely helped and could see him right in the finish again this time.
(6) Jubilation is in a rich vein of form over the staying trips and would surprise if he wasn’t to continue his strong form in this 1800m event tonight.
(5) Sunny Baby Each-Way
$5/$2.25 (1 Unit)
Race 7
(2) Money Catcher brings A1 form into this race. He was a placegetter behind Romantic Warrior in the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup last time and returns to Happy Valley here in a much weaker Group 3 event. From gate 1 he gets every favour and should be hard to beat.
(7) Packing Award can be forgiven for one poor run last time when 7th from a wide gate. He was in stellar form prior to that and although he meets tough competition here and is up in grade he can be in the finish at big odds.
(3) Berlin Tango flashed home late last start and steps up in grade here but drops significantly in weight. Karis Teetan is in strong form and can get the best out of this horse.
