Warwick Farm Racing Tips – Wednesday, May 17th 2023
Race 2: Showtime @ Arrowfield 1600m (1:25pm AEST)
(4) Buillt – Tipped this 3YO last week, but was scratched late due to conditions. Has placed on the soft track previously, but it appears the trainers want it dryer. Ran home nicely at Gosford and had a nice maiden win first up. Never succeeded at this track from 4 outings which isn’t ideal, but gets fourth up and if the weather stays clear and we get a soft/good track he is in for a shout at odds.
(9) Lyrical gangster – 3YO who has had two great races to start his career. Won first up and then came third in a benchmark. Gets third up today and will have enough experience and fittnest to compete here. J Mac was booked for Buillt last start when he was favourite (SCRATCHED), jumps off to ride this one today. Should go well.
(3) Grebeni – Early market favourite who has drifted slightly. Has a nice resume where he has only miussed the minors twice from 6 attempts. Only win comes from this distance and first up he flew home to just miss. Back to 1600m where he is proven and has shown he can handle wet ground. Second up and should be fit to go.

Race 3: Chase The Dream BM64 1100m (2:00pm AEST)
(8) Eagle Nest – 3YO Filly who was $2.50 favourite here last start and finished midfield (Only 2.5L off winner) Prior to that she won her maiden by 5L. She gets back on the soft deck where she was impressive. She is fourth up now and will be rock hard fit. Hopefully jumps well and finds cover on pace and can peel out and take it away. Will be a nice bet. Expect the market to push early.
Eagle Nest - E/W
$6/$2.25 (2u/3u)
Race 7: Tab BM72 1100m (4:20pm AEST)
(13) Va Via – Open race on paper, but Va Via looks primed second up here against this field. Deserves another win to her name. Had 12 attempts with 8 minors (1 win). Narrowly missed last start over this distance and grade. Keeps the same weight and J Mac is still in the saddle. Tricky gate will be the only concern, but hopefully she can slot in midfield with cover and pounce late. Each way chance.
(8) So Good So Cool - Track specialist this one. Proven over this distance and only just missed 2 back here. Gets a 1.5kg relief on that run. If the rain comes and we see a heavy deck he will be worth a small each way. Draws a horrible gate which will require some luck. Roughie chance.
