Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday June 13th 2026

It’s time for the G1 JJ Atkins and Stradbroke at Eagle Farm as the winter carnival continues with a further 3 x Group 2s, Group 3 and 3 x Listed races to fill the card. The track is expected to be Heavy this week which is going to make things awfully tricky after seeing a Good track last weekend. The first race kicks off at 11.43am AEST.

Race 5 – Seven Hinkler Handicap Listed @ 2:03pm AEST (1200 METRES)

(4) Pereille – 6YO gelding who has settled rearward in both runs this prep, but has finished off strongly on both occasions. Back to 1200m now where he boasts a pretty good record and is proven at the track. Wet track form is sound and with J-Mac in the saddle he looks a great bet at a $6.00 price. Will need a little luck rom gate 14, but will be primed for this third up run and will be running on again. Each way.

(7) Cloudland – 7YO Grey who looks way over the odds with the conditions to suit him perfectly. Two back he was very good on the heavy winning over this trip in Open grade. Back on the dry last start in tougher company and it was a touch out of his reach. Drops back in grade, gets the conditions to suit, loves this trip and proven at the track. Drawn well and looks a blow out hope.

(8) Fire Star – 5YO gelding who lacked some fitness first up, but is expected to only improve and is a genuine wet tracker, so conditions will suit. Drawn well and Jason Collett steers. Value play.

Race 7 – Trackside Nz J.j Atkins Group 1 @ 3:17pm AEST (1600 METRES)

(1) Berzelius – 2YO Colt who was dominant on debut winning by 1.5L in open grade over 1110m, then went onto a Group 3 at the Gold Coast and SP’d $3.70, but finished midfield after running on well. Rose to 1400m last start at Eagle Farm against Group 2 types and got the chocolates nicely at big odds. Best appears to be good enough to test these here and is worth thought. 

(4) Tron Bolt – 2YO Colt who looks very promising with a dominant second up win over 1400m and then again last start on the heavy winning by 1.5L. Rises to the mile now which shouldn’t be an issue, proven on the heavy track and gets the booking of J-Mac again. Looks to be the one to beat. On top.

(5) Stormy Marco – Value play of the race. Won well in open grade first up and then tackled Group 2 company at Eagle Farm, but had no luck when coming down the straight. Can play a role.

Race 8 – Ladbrokes Stradbroke Handicap Group 1 @ 3:57pm AEST (1400 METERS)

(1) Fangirl – 7YO Veteran Mare who is always honest and was very good when resuming in the Kingford Smith last start hitting the line intently to only finish 0.3L off the winner. J-Mac stays in the saddle and the extra 100m of trip now looks ideal. Only concern is the heavy conditions as she is unplaced from all 5 attempts. Proven on the soft though, so if condition improve she will be a very good bet.  

(4) Another Wil – 6YO Gelding who looks to be building nicely and was very brave in defeat last start in the Kingsford Smith when sitting O/S the leader for the entirety and has only gone down by half a length behind HEADLEY GRANGE / JIMMYSSTAR & FANGIRL who all had the drop on him. Expected to improve again now being third up and has a very good record over 1400m. Proven wet tracker and albeit drawing a sticky gate, he can hopefully slot in with some cover and get a tow into the race this time and will be launching late. Goes well. Over the odds. 

(7) Headley Grange – 5YO gelding who broke through for his maiden group 1 win last start in the Kingsford Smith and beat a stack of other Group 1 winners in doing so. Strips fitter again and gets 4kg off his back from that win and is a proven wet tracker. Draws well and will have plenty of admirers again. Hard to look past.
