2023 AFL Round 16 Expert Tips
Thursday June 29th
Getting us underway in Round 16 is Brisbane vs Richmond on Thursday night. The Lions have strung together a couple of wins in a row without being convincing, while the Tigers have looked good under their interim coach. It should be a great contest to get proceedings underway.
Friday June 30th
The Swans recorded their biggest win in club history last weekend but will face much tougher opposition in Round 16. Can they keep their finals hopes alive with another win, or will the reigning premiers continue their ascendency with a valuable victory on the road?
Saturday July 1st
After suffering a devastating defeat against Collingwood last Sunday, Adelaide will be desperate to make amends with a big home win over the lowly Kangaroos on Saturday afternoon. However, the Roos have been competitive of late and can be dangerous on their day.
The Western Bulldogs have had an up and down season but will be confident their best is good enough. Their first test post-bye comes against a Fremantle side who recorded a strong win over Essendon last weekend. This should be a cracking contest.
The Suns recaptured some of their best form with a dominant win over the Hawks in Round 15, but now find themselves up against the benchmark of the competition this weekend in the Magpies. Can the Suns defy the odds and record one of the biggest wins in club history?
The Bombers fell asleep at the wheel against the Dockers last weekend and can’t afford a similar lapse on Saturday night when they take on the form team of the competition. Will the Power continue to surge and make it 12 wins on the spin?
Sunday July 2nd
Hawthorn have unexpectedly taken a few notable names in season 2023 and will look to make Carlton another victim. However, the Blues found a strong win last time out and will be desperate to take care of business on Sunday to keep their season alive.
The Demons let one slip against the Cats last weekend and won’t want too many more losses if they’re to secure a top four berth. They’ll head into their matchup against the Giants as strong favourites at their home away from home at TIO Traeger Park in the NT.
The Eagles officially hit rock bottom in Round 15 when they suffered a disgusting 171 point loss. What will they dish up this weekend when they take on a Saints outfit who sit fifth on the ladder? It’s an intriguing match to finish the round to say the least.
