The Valley headlines Friday Night racing once again with eight races on the program. The first race starts at 6:15pm (AEDT), and the track is currently rated a Soft 5 but a Good track is not out of the question with sunny weather in the lead up. My four best bets of the evening are below!
Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday, December 8th 2023
Race 2: Heartkids for Kids XMAS - 6:45pm (AEDT)
(3) Rocket Scientist was fair on resumption after a spell (5th) at Ballarat on a Good surface but at the each-way price looks a play here. Plenty of Ammo beat him last time and that horse won again at $1.20 at Lakeside on Wednesday.
(2) Mr Trafficanti has Ben Allen on this time after winning well at Geelong last time. Will want a track upgrade.
(4) Takara was beaten only a head when 3rd last start at Lakeside and is in the leading stable of Maher&Eustace.
(5) Raetihi is very consistent but has only won 1 from 15. Place chance again.
(3) Rocket Scientist - E/W

Race 4: Allstate Refrigeration Services Handicap - 7:45pm (AEDT)
(1) Hard Squeeze has drawn inside and gets a claim here for Carleen Hefel. He has placed in half of his starts here and has the ability to run on well. May want the track to stay Soft though.
(5) One Last Kiss will want a Good track and goes into this race after getting done on the line last start.
(8) Miss Tarzy settled handy when winning at Seymour last start and may try the same tactics at this track.
(9) Rule Mule led here when 4th last start and will be sure to run better after having a look at the tight circuit. Waterhouse & Bott train and will only get better.

Race 6: Metro Freight Lines Handicap - 8:45pm (AEDT)
(8) Miss Russia has drawn well in 3 and gets the 1.5kg claim for Hefel which should assist. She was up there early last time at this track but got tired but I expect her to run better tonight. Is a lot fitter now and her Kyneton win 2 starts back was quality.
(7) Miss Milhous was on-pace when winning at Donald and should improve again.
(6) El Capony was poor last time but will appreciate a track upgrade if it comes.
(1) Controversial Miss won the Hay Cup but obviously this is harder. Will be an interesting watch.
(8) Miss Russia - E/W
$7/$2.30 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Simpson Construction Handicap - 9:45pm (AEDT)
(4) Explosive Thinker resumes and has placed first up before and has won when second up so may be a horse that goes well fresh. Won a Cranbourne trial last week and did win by 2L at Sale 2 starts back. Has had 8 months off though and each-way might be the way to go.
(6) Reprisal will find this race easier than latest and will settle around midfield. May not appreciate a track upgrade though.
(8) Voltage Point has raced well in 2 races since resuming in SA. He likes this distance and the stable is in form.
(7) El Cabang will need further distance in a few weeks but is better than most of these. Good odds.
(4) Explosive Thinker - E/W
