Race goers will also get the opportunity to witness Autumn Glow go round in the Group 2 Sevens Stakes, but at the current $1.14 quote we will not be tipping in the race. Race 3: The Agency Real Estate – BM88 – 1600m - 1:00pm (AEST)
(1) Declichy Boulevard: 5YO mare who enters her fourth run of the preparation following three exceptional performances this time in. She launched her campaign with an outstanding effort over 1400m before a strong second-up showing, where she settled at the tail of the field, pivoted to the extreme outside, and charged home to finish fifth, just a length off the winner. Last start, she stepped up in grade for the Goulburn Cup and turned in another high-quality performance to finish third behind Just Party and Cross Tasman. With those form lines, she looks primed for peak fitness now. The rise to the 1600m mile appears perfect for her, James McDonald takes over, and she maps beautifully to secure a soft run right behind the leaders. The ideal scenario sees her peeling out near the 400m mark to unleash down the outside. She rates on top as the clear horse to beat and gets the perfect setup to overhaul them late. On top.
(3) Knobelas: 5YO Mare who kicked things off in the Goulburn Cup and had no luck when caught wide throughout. Her trials have been sound and are indicating she is set for a solid campaign moving forward. This looks a nice assignment for her second up run and with barrier 3 she should receive a much kinder run throughout. 1600m looks ideal and goes well second up. Each way.
(10) Victorious Spirit: 4YO gelding who didn’t return all that badly, even though finishing 9th of 16, he drifted back in the early stages and then managed to eat into the margin late for an on-speed race. Steps up in trip now and will only strip fitter for the run. Maps nicely and looks a live chance at odds.

Race 5: Hope Research Bill Ritchie Hcp - GROUP 3 - 1400m- 2:10pm (AEST)
(1) Headley Grange: 6YO gelding rewarded our faith last start, lunging on the line to defeat Soothsayer in Group 2 company. He drops to Group 3 grade here, and while he must carry a hefty 61kg, he is a genuine competitor who knows how to win. His brilliant first-up run equalled his career-peak finishing benchmark, proving he has returned in sensational order. He rates on top again, maps beautifully, and with plenty of speed on paper, he should get a perfect tow into the race to power home late. Stripping even fitter, we are happy to stick with him.
(2) Private Eye: 9YO veteran who rates highly for this affair and although he finished 7th last start, the run prior was full of merit when running second behind COSMIC CRUSADER. Blinkers go back on this time and if he can lob up on the speed in behind the leaders from the wide draw, he will be every chance. Don’t overlook.
(10) Matcha Latte: 7YO Gelding who returned soundly finishing third behind MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO and SOOTHSAYER at Group 3 level. Of note, SOOTHSAYER has franked that form by going head-to-head with HEADLEY GRANGE in a Group 2. This week she draws pole position and will be able to dictate out in front on her terms and with a run under her belt he should be capable of holding them off for a long time. Takes catching.

Race 9: Yarraman Park Shorts – GROUP 2 -1100m - 4:35pm (AEST)
(1) Ninja: 4YO Gelding who continues to rise to the occasion and has only missed the placings on one occasion. Won well first up after a late betting drift which will have him and the stable full of confidence for this second up run. Unbeaten second up and Tommy Berry has a good record when in the saddle. Of note, he has also been locked into an Everest slot, so he is clearly one of the best sprinters currently going round. Worth thought.
(2) Joliestar: An elite, Group 1 mare who returns to the track after having a stint in the UK racing at Ascot. This will be her first up run since that trip and may need the run back in Aus. While she has been dealt no favours from the wide alley in Barrier 11, she boasts a lethal finish and loves this track. James McDonald steers and will need to ride for a little luck, but if the early tempo is as hot as expected, her class and strong closing sprint abilities could be enough to pick them all up. Query is the wide draw and the return to Aus from her international campaign.
(3) Headwall: 7YO gelding who returned brilliantly from a lengthy spell and arguably should have won, or at least finished much closer to Tempted, if he hadn't been held up in traffic. He will strip much fitter for that run, and the step up to 1200m looks perfect given how strongly he closed off fresh. His outstanding -19.8 first-up benchmark puts him well clear of what is required to win this. He maps beautifully to settle just behind the leaders, and a projected hot tempo will play right into his hands. Ideally, he finds clear air on the outside to balance up and unleash a powerful finish. He looks incredibly well-placed here, and we are happy to be on.
