Another Wednesday means some good midweek racing to get us over the hump. There’s meetings at Warwick Farm and Sandown where we can hopefully find a few winners. Billy Bestford has had a look across the meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 8th
Warwick Farm Race 3
I like seeing (1) Solar Apex stepping back in grade and trip here. Ran on okay over 2000m in a decent Saturday bm78 but looks much better placed here. The 1.5kg claim is a big positive and he has a very good record over the mile. With a bit of rain around yet again this week he’ll have no issues if we see some downgrades and from barrier 3 should see every favour in the run.
Warwick Farm Race 4
Keen to be with (5) Niffler here who brings an unbeaten record into this race. Steps up in grade yet again but has looked good winning both starts to date. The maiden he won has produced 4 subsequent winners since, while he hit the line well first up to win a Class 1 at Wyong. Looking forward to seeing him step out to the mile which should suit and he looks an exciting and up and coming horse for Waller.
Warwick Farm Race 6
Hoping (7) Glittery might be in for a big prep following a nice first up win. Has always been a horse who’s shown talent and thinking she might’ve turned a corner now with a good first up performance. She will certainly be suited by the give in the track and looks ready to step up to this trip for the first time. Bowman jumps aboard today and draws nicely in gate 6. This race is arguably no tougher than the one she won first up.
Sandown Race 7
(14) Designs looks ready to win 3rd up from a spell following two good runs this prep. Raced a bit keenly there 2nd up and also pulled up with some post-race excuses. Kah jumps aboard today from the inside draw and gets up to 1800m full of fitness. Probably just needs the gaps to come at the right time and I think she will be winning today.
Warwick Farm Race 7
(10) Rubinocchi was a good run first up from a long spell, only just going down in a photo over 1000m. Gets through the conditions and from barrier 2 he can possibly settle a bit closer today. Drops in the weights and in a pretty open race I think he looks as good a winning chance as any. Still has plenty of upside with just 5 career starts and I’m hoping he can go one better now 2nd up.
