Caulfield will host a bumper program with seven of the 10 races being Group Races. I’m looking forward to the Blue Diamond Prelude with many talented two year olds going around. Some nice types are resuming including Light Infantry Man, Rise At Dawn and Tom Kitten and a couple of those are featured below.
The weather is expected to be Fine and the track will remain a Good 3 or 4. My three best bets of the day are below with Ambassadorial in race 1 the first of those. The Quaddie tips will also feature at the end of the form. Race one starts at 12:15pm (AEDT). Good luck to everyone following along!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, February 7th 2026
Race 1: Herald Sun Handicap 2000m - 12:15pm (AEDT)
(3) Ambassadorial hasn’t won in a long time and we are getting short odds but this really does look like his race. On January 17 at Flemington he ran on really well to finish 2nd and the extra 200m looks ideal. His Caulfield form is just fair but he has raced well in harder races than this.
(1) Bluestone goes well fresh and is 1 from 1 over the 2000m. He races well when Luke Cartwright is on top and he is riding in very good style. He has placed in his last five runs and a top 3 finish is on the cards again.
(4) I Only Wish has placed twice at Caulfield and is one that appreciates the 2000m. Luke Currie has never finished further back than 2nd when on top.
(3) Ambassadorial WIN
$2.10 (4 units)
Race 7: Henley Homes Kevin Heffernan Stakes Group 3 1400m - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(1) Tom Kitten is first up from a short spell and with residual fitness still on his side I think he can take this out. Tom goes pretty well fresh and will appreciate a drop in class compared to what he was competing against in the Spring. He will likely position midfield in this for Craig Williams and I think the stable will want a win first up to build momentum into the Autumn because he is a real confidence runner.
(2) Veight is good fresh and is good on Dry ground. He has drawn the inside for Luke Currie and he might lead this or settle just behind the leader.
(4) Zou Sensation got up by a nose at Flemington on NYE and has been freshened. Jamie Melham rides well on this guy and he loves racing over the 1400m.
(1) Tom Kitten WIN
($3.50 3 units)
Race 9: Catanach’s Jewellers MRC Foundation Cup Group 3 1600m - 4:55p (AEDT)
(5) Rise At Dawn has drawn well in this and he can lead from there or settle 3rd behind the leader. He likes Caulfield and she is unbeaten over the mile at the venue. The on pace speed is probably the key here because Jamie Melham will want a steady tempo which will enable the Hayes trained gelding to kick clear up the straight. Hasn’t won in a while but is a winner having won 8 of 22 races.
(6) Regal Zeus loves Good tracks and he might try and lead. He has drawn well in 4 for Jamie Mott and similar to Rise At Dawn will want to position up on pace but not over do it. Has a good record over the mile and another who likes the venue.
(7) Holymanz will settle midfield and may get the last crack at them if they go too hard in front. Ben Allen was on top when he won the Werribee Cup in December and he rounded them up from the 400m mark on that occasion. If the track is not leader biased then he is a chance.
(5) Rise At Dawn
$3.30 (2 units)
