Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, January 31st 2026
Race 4: Ule Hoof il Handicap 2400m - 2:00pm (AEDT)
(7) Stylish Secret gets the nod here after drawing a good barrier (2) which should see him settle 3rd or 4th in the run for Luke Cartwright who is on top. He has won over this track & distance previously and he usually races well at Caulfield. Last week Suntora was just too smart for him getting the win 3.5L in front of him. Drops 3kg from that assignment.
(6) Sun Gift loves racing on Dry ground which she gets again. She will settle in a similar position to our top pick and maybe next to him on the outside considering she has drawn a wider barrier. A 1.25L winner at Flemington last start and sticks with the same weight.
(9) Navy Heart will be running on late and did just that at Flemington last start when 3rd. First try at Caulfield but likes the 2400m. Is consistent having placed in his last 4 assignments.

Race 6: Sportsbet Chairman's Stakes Group 3 1000m - 3:10pm (AEDT)
(1) Big Sky won by 2.75L up the straight at Flemington and he looks a promising Bivouac/Zoom By colt. On January 17 he went straight to the lead and controlled the speed before kicking clear over the concluding stages. From barrier 2 he may be able to do the same here if there is little pressure on during the race. Ben Melham goes on top and he does look like the one to beat again.
(7) Jadzia is on debut for the Graheme Begg stable and she did win a Sandown jumpout on January 15. Jordan Childs is on top and he was on Invincible Son last start so that might be an indication that he fancies here chances.
(2) Invincible Son was wide at Caulfield Heath when 3rd before he went out for a break and looks over the odds here. He settled midfield for Jamie Melham in that race and she stays on.

Race 7: Lamaro’s Hotel Chairman’s Stakes 1200m - 3:45pm (AEDT)
(7) A Little Deep ticks a few boxes in this race I reckon and I am happy to be with the third favourite. She loves Dry ground, likes this track and likes racing well for Jamie Melham who has the steer. She has had a small freshen up for this and she does go well when kept fresh. She is lightly raced so may have a few issues but I am putting trust in the Maher stable that she is ready to fire in this Group 3.
(3) Damask Rose may get buried back on the rails. She has barrier 1 and she normally gets a fair way back in the run. Craig WIlliams is on though and he is one of the best. No luck at Caulfield as yet.
(4) Aviatress was 4th in the Group 3 Standish Handicap and races against her own sex here. Has won 5 from 16 on Good ground and may get the run of the race in about 4th position. Likes this track and another kilogram off will help with Harry Coffey on for the first time.
