Geelong Racing Tips – Wednesday, October 25th 2023

Race 2: SCAADA Group Handicap - 1pm (AEDT)

(10) Mornington Glory has a win and 2nd to his name on Good tracks from his 3 starts and from barrier 7 he should get a good run here. He won a Cranbourne jumpout last week and it looks like he can settle handy again in this like he did when he was 2nd at Ballarat last start. He has raced in harder races than this before and at each-way odds can run well again.

(11) Tanto might try to settle closer in this race after getting a bit too far back last time. He likes Dry tracks and he goes well at this distance.

(7) Zapouring has drawn wide and will push on early with Craig Williams on top. May get tired late though.

(2) Rey Magnerio is on the quick back up after running 4th at Seymour on Sunday. Barrier 15 makes it tough though.

(10) Mornington Glory - E/W

$6.50/$2.10 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Roderick Insurance Brokers Geelong Classic - 2:45pm (AEDT)

(7) Served Cold was a beaten short-priced favourite when 5th last time at Flemington but he can make amends here for the Danny O’Brien stable who is in fine form. At this track on September 3 it was a winning day for Served Cold with Shinn on and you would think that the team had one eye on this race on that occasion. Shinn stays on and he meets the favourite in this race with 2kg less.

(3) Dulcet is the fav for Waller and he was far too good at Sale last start. He will settle midfield and will be powering home again. Will want a good tempo on.

(1) Waverly rises 400m in distance and Willow sticks with him. His form on Dry tracks ison fair though.

(2) Sacred Eagle may lead this field like he did when winning at Kyneton last start.

(7) Served Cold - Win

$3.40 (2 Units)

Race 7: bet365 Geelong Cup Group 3 - 4pm (AEDT)

(7) Virtuous Circle is a get back type who will take off with 400m to go in this one. The Liam Howley trained runner has been progressing okay in his campaign but is a horse that does rely on a bit of luck. Damien Lane stays on after riding him for a 10th at Flemington last start and he didn't have much luck in that race and was stuck behind others in the run. The distance of the Geelong Cup is no issue but he will likely need the pace on. Each-way.

(2) Ashrun is fitter now and does go better on Dry tracks. Zahra stays on and he is another who will get back in the run.

(13) First Immortal has drawn barrier 15 which is not ideal. He is predicted to run well in the Melbourne Cup if he makes it and he has won half of his career starts (7). The fav!

(15) Ferago at big odds has won 3 races at Geelong and did race well last start at Caulfield when 4th in the Herbert Power. Not the worst.

(7) Virtuous Circle - E/W

$8/$2.60 (1 Unit)

Race 9: The Sporting Globe After the Last Heat 6 - 5:20pm (AEDT)

(1) Typhoon Harmony gets the good draw in 3 and will position up handy in this race. He likes Geelong and McNeil has won on him twice before. There is a small chance the pair might push for the lead in this if able.

(2) Belthil has a big finish on him and he might display it on his preferred surface here. At Caulfield last start he settled a little closer than usual and scored but with more pace on in this he will likely settle in the back half again. Harry Coffey has won on him 4 times and his career winning strike rate is very good having won 40 percent of his starts.

(3) Rogue Rocker ran on well for 3rd behind Rheinberg last start at Caulfield. Lane is on for the first time and he has been freshened for this.

(6) Von Hauke is the likely fav and Kah has won on him before. They went too slow for him last time in a race where Tamerline led all of the way.

(1) Typhoon Harmony - E/W

$26/$6 (0.5 Units)
