Sandown Hillside will host eight midweek races on Wednesday as gallopers take to the track at 3:40pm (AEDT). The two year olds will start us off over 1300m but my best three bets of the day are later in the program. The first bet is a consistent placegetter, while our second play of the day is resuming for the Hawkes Team. Our tip in the last race has been unplaced his last couple but is ready to show something third up from a spell.

Sandown Hillside Racing Tips: Wednesday, February 25th 2026
Race 5: Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap 2400m - 6pm (AEDT)
(3) Bluestone has only missed a top 3 finish once in his 11 start career and he is starting to build consistent form over the longer distances around this 2400m mark. In the winter of 2025 he ran in some quality races in Melbourne and Sydney and this race looks suitable. He enjoys racing on Dry tracks and he always seems to take ground off those in front of him over the concluding stages. Hasn’t won in 9 months is the only knock.
(1) Urban Outlook box seated and won well at Cranbourne last start over 2600m and he is a winner at Hillside previously. He has copped a 2kg weight penalty but has the services of Jamie Melham on top.
(2) American Wolf is another who races well on Dry tracks and he was favourite when beaten by Urban Outlook last start (3rd). Good odds if you can forgive being beaten as fav.
(3) Bluestone Each-Way
$4.00/$1.80 (1 unit)
Race 6: Ive Handicap 1300m - 6:30pm (AEDT)
(8) Trapdoor was a short priced favourite at this track before going out for a spell. On that occasion he ran a good 2nd after being on pace throughout and before that he stormed home to win at Geelong after being 7th on the home turn. The 1300m looks to be an ideal starting distance for his return and I think the Hawkes team have chosen this track for a reason to start off his prep.
(7) Enamorada I tipped on here last time but she let us down as a $1.80 fav. She was all the rage that day at this track but really didn’t let down over the final 200m after it looked as though she was cruising. Both starts prior were wins on Dry tracks. In the leading Maher stable and can bounce back.
(9) Blue Hawaiian won 2 weeks ago at Pakenham. This race looks harder and the 2 horses above do look like they will win quite a few races. An easier race and he is right in it.
(8) Trapdoor WIN
$3.00 (2 units)
Race 8: Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap 1800m 7:30pm (AEDT)
(3) Savisanta for Chris Waller and Logan Bates (jockey) has to carry 61.5kg in this race but did win impressively last start when $1.30 fav. Might settle just behind Figlio Dargento in this race I reckon and I think she will be stronger to the line. Last time when second up it was a good 2nd.
(12) So Suave is the stablemate to Savisanta and ran a good 4th at Caulfield Heath last start. Ben Melham hops back on after being on top last prep.
(2) Figlio Dargento has won 3 from 9 on Good tracks and he did lead all of the way here last start. Has been punished 2.5kg though and he may get tired late.
(3) Savisanta Each-Way
$4.20/$1.65 (1u/2u)
