Another Wednesday means some strong midweek racing to get us through the week. There’s meetings at Geelong and Hawkesbury where we can hopefully find a few winners.
Billy Bestford has had a look across the meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Today's Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 13th
Geelong Race 2
(5) Shines has looked super impressive at the jump outs and I think she can kick her career off with a comfortable win here in a weak maiden. She’s shown good speed in her recent work and should map comfortably forward today from a low draw and be tough to run down.
Geelong Race 3
(1) Dun Warrior should have won on debut and it was a sick watch if you were on him that day. He had no room whatsoever at crucial stages and only got clear when it was all over. He exploded once the gaps opened and still almost won! Will come on from that and expect Kah to give him every chance today from barrier 4. His trial work was very good leading into that debut.
Think it could be worth doubling these above two selections together for a backable price!
Hawkesbury Race 3
(1) Norwegian Bliss is an exciting horse and puts her undefeated record on the line once again. She won four on the trot last prep in impressive fashion. She won easily in a bm78 at the end of last prep and resumes here in a 72. Obviously she is weighted accordingly but she’s trialled well and Jmac takes the ride. She goes to the lead and you know exactly what you are going to get with her.

Geelong Race 6
I think (7) Romany Rocks can sprint well enough fresh to win this. She showed plenty of talent in her debut prep and had no luck in a strong race behind Espiona at Flemington when last seen on the track. Recent jump outs have been really strong and I think she is ready to go to a new level now.
Hawkesbury Race 5
Plenty to like about the last start win of (9) Thalassophile who bolted in by over 6L on a heavy Newcastle track. Will get similar wet conditions today and I like the rise to 1300m. She’s still very lightly raced and expect we haven’t seen the best of her just yet.
