Pakenham Racing Club will hold its annual Cup Day on Saturday with a large crowd predicted to be on course. The Cup will be race seven on the program and runners are predicted to be running on a Soft5 track. The race is over 2500m and Skipper’s Canyon is favourite for the Philip Stokes stable. Etna Rossa is second favourite for Chris Waller but has drawn the carpark in barrier 17. The Supernova is the main drawcard which starts at 4:25pm (race eight), and we have a play in that race.
Brendan Bunworth is back with his best bets for the Pakenham card below.

Pakenham Racing Tips: Saturday, December 13th 2025
Race 2: Ray White Pakenham & Officer Handicap 2500m - 12:45pm (AEDT)
(1) Shockletz won when resuming when we were off her and has failed in his last couple when we were on her. He gets a claim with Luke Cartwright on top and from barrier 4 I think she will settle closer than last start in around midfield. She has won over this distance before and punters have backed her in late her last couple.
(10) Hot Too Glo gets weight relief in this one and is over the odds. He was backed into favourite last start with Willow on (10th) and the pair went too hard in front. Willow stays on.
(12) Texas Tea is lightly raced and hasn’t won in three years. He has obviously had some issues but did run well to starts back at Mornington after leading (2nd). Place chance.
(1) Shockletz WIN
$4.60 (1 unit)
Race 3: Tassie Foods Fine Foods PB Ronald 1600m - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(9) Jenni Gone Bonkers has drawn wide in 11 but she is a versatile girl who can go forwarder back. She has always run in the top 3 on a Soft track which is key and she is 1 from 1 at Pakenham. Last start she was backed to win ($1.50) and finished in 2nd position after settling midfield. Can bounce back and get the punters respect back.
(2) Astral Flame likes Pakenham and gets suitable conditions again after running 2nd beaten a neck at Cranbourne last start. Is fourth up from a short spell and is ready to fire and will run well if she can get the mile.
(3) Real Alliance has won 4 from 9 on the Soft and is a last start Werribee winner. Is up in class though and will need some luck after winning her previous 4 races.
(9) Jenni Gone Bonkers WIN
$2.50 (3 units)
Race 8: Ladbrokes Supernova 1400m - 4:25pm (AEDT)
(3) Private Eye is a multiple Group winner and is the classiest horse of the race and can bounce back after 5th in the Russell Balding at Randwick. He went back last start and ran on well but this time he will roll forward I think. WInning the Group 3 Moonga Stakes at Caulfield was his highlight of the Spring. WInner of $12million and can grow that amount again under the set weight penalties. Willow is on and he is in fine form after winning multiple races at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.
(8) Zou Sensation will also settle on pace but is up in distance. Runs well with Ben Allen on top and gets a good draw in 4.
(13) Gumdrops is a good roughie I think. Was favourite and race well when we backed her last start (2nd) and she drops a kilogram here. Will be running on.
(3) Private Eye WIN
$2.25 (3 units)
