Sandown Lakeside has become a popular track for midweek racing and the club again gets another chance to showcase Twilight Racing this week. The weather looks fine and the first of eight starts at 3:40pm (AEDT). A Matt Laurie trained horse has drawn well in the first and we are wanting Craig WIlliams to have a day out because we are backing two of his runners during the afternoon.
Brendan Bunworth brings you his Sandown best bets for the day below as well as his Quaddie selections, with odds thanks to Ladbrokes. And if you’re after more free tips for this week's key meetings, then head over to our Racing Tips!

Sandown Lakeside Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 10th 2025
Race 1: Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap 1200m - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(7) Lady Verity drew inside (2) when she won at Geelong last start over 1114m and with a similar draw here she should get a similar run. She should lead again and start favourite again after winning her maiden well, starting at $1.40. That win was on a Good 4 as well and Jamie Mott rides again. They might to to pressure her early but the draw is key here.
(3) Cavern got too far back at Caulfield Heath last start and he ran on fairly for 4th. The worry is he gets 4 to 5L behind Lady Verity in the run and she kicks clear from a possible slow speed.
(2) Astari won his maiden at Traralgon on a Good track on November 1 and will appreciate the conditions. Gets a good barrier in 3 and gets Craig Williams on.
(7) Lady Verity WIN
$3.20 (2 units)
Race 2: Kris Kalifatidis Plate 1200m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(11) Thanks Gorgeous will have to come across from barrier 10 but has the right man on top (Williams). She worked to second last start when 4th in a Group 3 at Caulfield and held her position to pretty well all for the last 100m when 4th. She was unlucky with the barrier draw that day too (13) so at least she is a little closer here. That race was a lot stronger than this and with this being her third run in this prep she should be cherry ripe for the Kavanagh stable.
(1) Celestra resumes from a spell but did win a Cranbourne jumpout on Novembr 17 which suggests she is forward enough. Has placed at Lakeside before and she is another who will likely roll forward.
(6) Layla is having her first start after winning two Flemington jumpouts. The Hayes stable usually has them ready first up and each-way is the play here.
(11) Thanks Gorgeous WIN
$2.10 (3 units)
Race 8: Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1400m - 7:30pm (AEDT)
(16) Stealth Of Night will go forward from barrier 11 and try and replicate but go one better than her result at Cranbourne last start (2nd). I think she settles second again and with the extra 100m will prove to be too strong late. Last time she raced over the 1400m it was a nice win and that was also on a good track. She was only beaten a nose last start and is fitter now.
(8) Sister Shay has drawn wide in 13 but loves Dry tracks and is one at odds. She was $2.20 last start and saluted for favourite backers at Wodonga but goes around at double figure odds here.
(1) Porter is another who enjoys Dry tracks and he has won at Lakeside previously. Will highly likely settle in the top 3 from barrier 1 and he has won 5 from 12 over this distance. Is one of the fittest horses in the race but is up in weight now. Hasn’t won in a while now but does have a good winning strike rate.
(16) Stealth Of Night WIN
$2.20 (2 units)
