Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Sunday, December 7th 2025
Race 4: Vinnie @ Yarraman Park BM72 1500m - 2:00pm (AEDT)
(1) Editing: This mare continues to build beautifully through the prep and was only narrowly denied last start. She’s hinted that she may be more effective on rain-affected going, so if the track stays soft her chances lift significantly. Fourth up and rock-hard fit, she profiles as a tidy each-way play with further improvement still to come.
(9) Mortal Halo: The deserved favourite who has been excellent in both runs this campaign. He impressed with a strong maiden win first up before sticking on well behind IVANS HERO in BM72 grade over this trip. Stays at 1500m, strips fitter third up, and maps to get every chance from the draw. Clear danger and the one they all have to beat.
(9) Mortal Halo WIN
$3.60 (2 Units)
Race 8: Tab Handicap BM94 1400m - 4:20pm (AEDT)
(2) Whinchat: This bloke resumes today and arrives off the back of three sharp trials, suggesting he’s come back in terrific order. His first-up record is rock solid (5: 2-1-2), and he’s right at home over this track and trip, having already posted two wins here. Last preparation he contested much tougher races, where the results didn’t quite mirror the strong prior campaign that saw him land three wins from four starts. He kicks off this prep back in a more suitable grade and maps to take up the running from the wide draw, especially with limited speed on paper. If he finds the front without burning too much early, he’ll be extremely hard to run down. Trials say he’s returned well, the setup suits, and he looks a genuine value play.
(12) Just Party: His first-up effort was full of merit after being well supported in betting, closing off strongly late. The rise to 1400m suits perfectly and he’s already a proven second-up winner. The only knock is the sticky gate, but with even luck he looks set to figure prominently.
(14) Chica Mojito: Resumes today and while her strike rate is modest with only one win from 21 starts, she’s ultra-consistent and has filled the placings on 10 occasions. Draws kindly and the early market support—firming from $18 into $10—suggests she’s forward enough to run a race fresh. A genuine knockout chance.
(2) Whinchat E/W
$8.50/$2.80 (1U/3U)
Race 9: Captivant @ Kia Ora BM78 2000m - 5:00pm (AEDT)
(2) Belle Detelle: This mare mixed it with elite company last prep, even tackling Group 1 level, and hasn’t been disgraced in her runs this campaign. Fourth up now and finds a very suitable assignment from a good draw. The booking of returning jock Sam Clipperton is a strong push. Shapes as a genuine winning hope.
(3) Kind Words: Racing well and rates nicely for this race. The step up in trip looks ideal at this stage of her prep, she maps well from the draw, and Tim Clark continues to take the reins for the Lees stable—always a tick. Closing in on her next victory and must be respected.
(4) Hurtsville Zagreb: Has been sent out favourite at his past two but hasn’t quite delivered on the promise yet, frustrating punters in the process. Nevertheless, his best form is more than good enough for this grade and he again finds a winnable race. Hard to trust but equally hard to dismiss.
(3) Kind Words E/W
$8.00/$2.30 (1U/2U)
