Sandown Racing Tips

Ladbrokes Park Hillside will host eight races on Wednesday with the first race kicking things off at 1pm (AEST). With no rain around the track will stay a Good 4 and horses that like Dry tracks will be the focus with a few of my selections, which you can find below!

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 20th 2023

Race 5: Quayclean Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)

(5) Little Miss Gutsaa has had solid 2nd up performances previously and she gets the nod. On resumption at Geelong she started 2nd fav and ran 5th of 7 but she was only 1.75L behind the winner. With more fitness on her side and a 2 week break, she should run a forward race for the Edwards team. She has won 3 races from 12 starts on Good ground and has placed on 6 other occasions. She has always been in the top 3 on this track and the distance is fine.

(6) Takara is another who likes Dry tracks and is first up. Before her spell she was 6th here after settling handy and she may push forward again.

(7) Truffle Finder broke her maiden at Pakenham before being spelled. Has to be included.

(1) Boldinho is the fittest horse in the race but has barrier 11 and 62kgs on his back.

(5) Little Miss Gutsaa - E/W

$7.50/$2.40 (1 Unit)

Race 6: Fierce Impact - Pedigree Physique Performance - 3:55pm (AEST)

(12) Discerning has had a small break after finishing 4th at this track on August 9. The Snowden Stable is very smart and would have tried a few things with this mare since and I am expecting a forward showing here with Jamie Kah in the saddle. She drops a kilo for this and will likely get a gun run in about 4th or 5th when turning for home.

(10) Explosive Rosie has drawn well (2) and has quality form on the Synthetic and on Good tracks.

(9) Aiming is resuming and is 1 from 1 when fresh. She has won 2 from 3 starts and wasn’t disgraced when in a better race last time (8th).

(5) Awapuni Princess is always thereabouts and can place again if the rails are on.

(12) Discerning - WIN

$5 (2 Units)

Race 7: Two Bays Farm Handicap - 4:30pm (AEST)

(10) Unlimited Magic won on a Good track at Pakenham on March 10 and is first up from a spell here. She has won both starts when resuming and barrier 4 with Ben Melham on board looks ideal. She has no problems over the 1000m and she should get a comfortable run just behind the leader.

(8) Luna Cat has drawn inside but can get a long way back in her races. Will be running on late.

(12) Cavallo Rampante ran on well for 2nd at Bendigo last time and that was on a Dry track.

(5) Etienne may lead this but has got a wide barrier (13) which was my concern.

(10) Unlimited Magic - WIN

$5 (1 Unit)

Race 8: Big Event Picnic Tables Handicap - 5:05pm (AEST)

(11) Georgie Get Mad is probably 100 percent fit now after 3 runs in and he gets the blinkers on for this one. He gets a little bit of weight relief from most of the others and he did run well at this track last start. Blake Shinn stays on and he should get a good run from barrier 7. Consistent and should run top 3.

(8) Unseen Ruler has a wide barrier in 11 but he does get back anyway. Will be running on at the end.

(6) Aravene ticks a lot of boxes but has only been in the top 3 once in 6 attempts. Ollie is on.

(5) Sir Rockford likes this track and likes this distance. Goes up 4kg in weight to 60kg though.

(11) Georgie Get Mad - E/W

$4/$1.75 (0.5 Units)
