Sale Racing Tips

Sale will host midweek racing in Victoria this week and and after a few showers on Sunday and Monday we have our first Soft track to race on in sometime. It’s an eight race program and the first race starts at 1:25pm (AEDT) with the three year old maidens going around.

Brendan Bunworth offers his best bets for Wednesday at Sale below, and be sure to head over to our Racing Tips page regularly as we offer our best bets for all the key meetings each week.

Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday, February 11th 2026

Race 5: Sale Water Specialists Handicap 1200m - 3:45pm (AEDT)

(1) Bold Bordeaux raises 3kg in weight for this race but Damien Lane is on and the gelding may appreciate a senior jockey on top this time. On December 10 at Lakeside she led them but got tired late to run 5th. He has been spelled since and the Hayes stable will hope for a repeat of his win at Kyneton on November 18 where he again settled on speed. First try on the Soft but he has one when first up previously.

(2) Keep It Real got up by a nose at Geelong last start and he started favourite on that occasion. Before that he was again fav when 2nd at Geelong. In his four starts he has always finished in the top 3 and he has finished 2nd twice on Soft tracks.

(4) Flowerdale is first up after a six month spell and will be one of the best late. His 2 starts on the Soft have been unplaced but he has won on wet ground. Has placed at Sale previously.

(1) Bold Bordeaux WIN

$3.50 (2 units)

Race 6: Maffco Brewery & Distillery Handicap 1000m - 4:20pm (AEDT)

(3) Tower Bridge looks to be a nice colt from the Cairon Maher stable and he won a jumpout last week at Cranbourne and looked good doing so. He is an on speed runner who is having his first race for the stable after switching over from Michael Walker and Ethan Brown is on top and he is in hot form after another winner on Monday at Sale.

(2) Symphony Of Colour is proven on Soft ground and was unlucky at Hillside last start when last. He is second up after a spell and this is his favourite distance.

(5) Hotspur Reale was in a close finish when 2nd at Cranbourne on January 22 and he has been racing well in between jumpouts.  Goes well for Jackie Berriman who is on top and he will likely be running on late.

(3) Tower Bridge WIN

$1.90 (3 units)

Race 8: Ladbrokes Oddsurge Handicap 1415m - 5:30pm (AEDT)

(2) Test Of Love is first up from a long spell but did win a jumpout on January 30 at Flemington. He comes into this with a little bit of fitness on his side after four jumpouts for the Hayes boys and a Soft track is to his liking. Had a stint over in Hong Kong before coming back to Melbourne and despite missing the top three his last few, I expect him to finish on the podium in this race.

(1) Lethal Thoughts has been racing well at big odds but has been carrying a bit of weight doing so. He has been settling in the box seat and has been finishing close up and a 3rd or 4th finish looks likely again. Is 1 from 1 at Sale though.

(3) Blistering will be coming from off the speed and Sale can be a hard track to make ground. Has placed 4 of 6 starts here though and he is one of the fittest horses in the race. Jason Maskiell is on top and he knows him very well.

(2) Test Of Love WIN

$4.20 (1 unit)
