Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, May 25th 2024
Race 2: Midway BM72– 11:35pm (AEST)
(1) Navy Blood $2.35: 3YO colt who was very impressive first up winning by almost 3L at Newcastle in this same grade. If he has pulled up okay off the heavy run then id expect he is the main danger again here. Rise in trip doesn’t appear to be a problem off that recent win. Fitter for this now too with a good gate.
(10) Sumo Star $5.00: 4YO who finished second behind Navy Blood last start, but gets a 2kg swing on him this time round. Worth another chance here and gets an extra 200m this time out which looks ideal. Only concern is he finds it hard to win with only 1 win from 20 career starts. Worth thought though.
(5) Resistible $7.50/$2.35: 4YO mare who won nicely first up and then struggled last start o the heavy deck. Fitter for this now third up and will only be improving. Each way looks good.
(1) Navy Blood

Race 4: PF CIVIL BM78 2400m - 12:45pm (AEST)
(4) Quantum Cat $2.35: 4YO gelding who has been racing very well and deserves to be favourite here. He finished less than 2L behind FRIGID two runs back which is a good form line to be looking at. Most recently finished second over 2000m. Looks ready to tackle the 2400m now the way he has been ticking over. He is 1 from 1 third up and goes okay on the soft track. Ready to strike now.
(5) Fay’s Angels $12.00/$3.00: Very consistent 4YO mare who always gives it a crack. Rock hard fit, but I think 2400m may be a fraction out of her reach. One for the exotics though.
(7) Awesome Wonder $4.50: 5YO mare who has a terrific 2400m record and will be hard fit now fourth up. Key booking of J. Collett and will be in the finish here.
(4) Quantum Cat

Race 7: Taylor Construction BM78 2:30pm (AEST)
(4) Penthouse $10.00/$3.00: 4YO mare who finally gets an easier race with her last few being at listed/group level. She returns to Sydney now and has had nearly two months between runs. Draws a sticky gate, but she has plenty of early speed to get her to the front where she likes to be. Hannah Williams jumps on with a 3kg claim which puts her right in this race. She is proven over the trip and has been successful at this track. Williams has ridden her twice for two wins. If she jumps well as expected and can get to the front she will be in this for the entirety. Goes well.
(7) Mojo Magic $5.00: 4YO who was 5 from 5 before taking on the Kosciuszko. Very good record and gets back to another winnable race here. Early market support suggests he is ready to go for this first up.
(15) Wild Botanica $7.50: Value pick of the race where she has already been crunched $14>$7.50. Likes this distance and is rock hard fit now fourth up.
