Racing in Sydney heads to Randwick this Saturday with the promise of sunshine making for a good day on the track. The Missile Stakes headlines the card with the returning Forbidden Love and Count De Rupee at the top of the market.
The track is currently rated a soft 6 and I think we will be racing on something similar come race day. The rail is in the true position.

Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday August 6th
Race 4
(13) Conqueror resumes today and the form out of his debut win is pretty incredible. He beat home a field consisting of She’s Extreme, Seven Veils and Alpha One just to name a few. Has trialled up really nicely for his return and I think he could be very good.
(4) I’ve Bean Tryin looks a smart horse on the rise. Keeps stepping up in grade and deserves a crack at this grade.
(5) Cotton Fingers was run down late last start but is better for the run and comes into this 4th up. Lightly raced and I think 1400m suits.
(10) Coodarady is another Waller horse who’s 1/1. Jmac takes the ride and he can lead these up from the low draw and be tough to run down.
(13) Conqueror

Race 6
(6) Smirnova is an exciting horse who is due some luck after last prep. A recent trial tells me she is ready to go fresh. Ran 3rd to Mazu last prep which looks genuine group 1 form now and from barrier 5 I think Pikey gives her every chance today.
(1) Maotai has been gelded and could easily have the most talent in this race. He just does himself no favours with his antics but the ultimate gear change may have helped. If he’s at his best he could be too hard to catch.
(3) Quick Tempo is lightly raced and is building a nice record. Back to 1000m suits and he can improve 2nd up.
(10) Rita May is fast and can be up on speed from barrier 4 with a claim for Reece jones. She gets in very light and a drying track will suit her chances.
(6) Smirnova
$4.40 (1.5 units)
Race 7
It was a very good return win from (12) Alcyone over 1500m. He was ridden quietly and when the jockey asked for an effort he lengthened beautifully to finish right over the top of them. Expect he improves even more off the back of that and the rise in trip looks a big tick. He drops a massive 10kg (!) off the last start win and his 2nd up run last prep saw him finish 2nd to Mr Brightside.
(6) Lord Ardmore ate up the 1800m last start, running away from a handy field. 3rd up now he is expected to be at peak fitness now and I think he’s in career best form. Could go on with it now.
(11) La Chevalee is a winner at this track/trip and has been racing in very good form on these wet tracks. Gets a big drop in the weights and trust the stable to have her cherry ripe once again.
A drying track will suit (8) Francesco Guardi and he is another who is racing in top shape. Two wins and a 2nd from his three runs this prep tell you all you need to know. Has a weight swing on Lord Ardmore from the last start defeat.
(10) Mubariz has a terrific 3rd up record and while he can mix form, I think at his best he can run a race here. Draws for every favour from gate 6.
(12) Alcyone

Race 8
The Missile Stakes is the feature race of the day and sees a quality field line up over 1200m. This race last year turned out to be one of the form races of the season so it could be worth following a few of these this prep.
(3) Forbidden Love really came of age last prep and stamped herself as a genuine group 1 horse, winning two of them. She looks to have not missed a beat since her break, with a recent trial as good as you would want to see. First up on a track she loves with drying conditions and in a race that lacks genuine speed for 1200m, she looks to get everything in her favour.
(1) Count De Rupee is a gun fresh horse and loves 1200m. He is super honest and if the track gets into the good range I think he looks the big danger to FL. Trial was good.
(7) Embracer trialled well as he normally does and at his best he can give this a good shake. Looks to lead this on his own and might just be too tough to run down?
(10) Belluci Babe is super genuine and was far from disgraced in some group 1 sprints last prep. Trialled up well for this and has missed the quinella just once from five first up runs.
(5) Gem Song the best roughie chance for mine.
