AFLW 2026 Round 4 Preview & Betting Tips

The 2026 AFLW season continues this weekend with Round 4 which includes four matches on Saturday and a whopping five on Sunday. There are some lopsided fixtures on the cards with one of those being powerhouse Kangaroos taking on last-placed Saints, although there are also plenty of fixtures that should go down to the wire.

2026 AFLW Round 4 Betting Tips

Western Bulldogs vs Sydney Swans

Saturday 12:35pm AEST, Mission Whitten Oval

It’s a quality matchup first up in Round 4 between two teams who will be confident they can play finals footy this year. The Bulldogs are 2-1 after a loss against the powerhouse Kangaroos last week but certainly weren’t disgraced. They remain without arguably their best player in Ellie Blackburn, so their engine room is still lacking a bit of class.

The Swans are flying after a 3-0 start. They ran over the top of the Crows in a gritty win first up and have backed it up with two comfortable wins against lesser opposition over the past fortnight. They now have some real midfield depth and have one of the most dominant rucks in the competition in Ally Morphett who looks to be back to her best. They have a clear class advantage here and I expect them to winning by at least two goals.

St Kilda vs North Melbourne

Saturday 1:05pm AEST, RSEA Park

The biggest mismatch of the round takes place at RSEA Park on Saturday with the last-placed Saints hosting a North Melbourne side that hasn’t lost since 2023. So, let’s keep this one short and sweet. Unless it’s a heavily rain-affected game, the Kangaroos simply have way too much class across all lines and should be easily winning this by 10+ goals. This should be yet another percentage-booster for the back-to-back champs.

Port Adelaide vs Gold Coast Suns

Saturday 2:35pm AEST, Alberton Oval

This is one of the more intriguing games of the slate and has the potential to be a bit closer than perhaps most would expect. The Power look to be a top eight chance this season and are coming off a gritty win against the Giants last week to move to 2-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Suns have shown some serious improvement after a disappointing 2025 campaign, simply due to how many high quality youngsters they had access to in the draft.

I fully expect the Power to be taking the four points here but feel slightly more comfortable taking them to win in the 1-39 range instead of backing them to cover the spread, as I can see the Suns pushing them all the way and making them really earn the points.

Brisbane Lions vs GWS Giants

Saturday 6:35pm AEST, Brighton Homes Arena

The Lions, who are perennial contenders and of course last season’s runner-up, severely lowered their colours last week in a huge loss against the Demons. However, you shouldn’t overreact to that performance as the Lions still have immense talent all over the park and will be keen to quickly make amends. They remain without Ally Anderson in the midfield but have the depth to cover.

Meanwhile, the Giants have been competitive through the first three rounds, winning their first hitout against the Eagles before falling to two quality sides in the Demons and the Power. They have a young list that is on the improve but this is simply a task to much for them at their current level. The Lions will be looking to bounce back in a big way and a 5+ goal win looks likely.
