Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 16th 2025

Race 1: Keeneland September Yearling Sale Mdn Hcp – 1100m - 1:25pm (AEST)

(2) Extractor $5.50: 3YO colt who is resuming and has placed in listed company previously. He has trialled well and outside of the tough alley he looks a nice chance. Worth thought.

(3) Burma Star $3.00: 3YO Colt who was terrific on return finishing off intently to only just miss out. He remains on the wet track which looks ideal off that last start run and will only be benefitting from the run. J-Mac has decided to stay on and with the handy draw and the run under his belt he looks a genuine winning chance now. Goes well.

(10) Gambers $4.80: Resuming 3YO Filly who wasn’t far away on debut and then tackled open grade at Rosehill and wasn’t the worst finishing less than 5L behind the winner (Memo). Has trialled well recently and will be among the dangers.

(3) Burma Star WIN

$3.00 (2 Units)

Race 4: Captivant @ Kia Ora BM72  – 1000m - 3:10pm (AEST)

(1) Kote $41.00/$9.50: Roughie of the field who has gone a longtime without a win, but improved last start at Dubbo which looked promising. Appreciate this is tougher, but with the 3kg claim and on the heavy conditions he could be a sneaky chance. All career wins come from the wet and rates okay for this. Blow out hope.

(4) Prima Bella $5.00: 5YO Mare who has been super this prep notching up 3 wins from her 4 runs. She is chasing the hatrick now and on her recent form she has to be the main danger here. Unbeaten on the heavy and with in form jockey sticking on im happy to be on. Draws well and rates nicely. Hard to knock.

(6) Bev’s Nine $3.60: 4YO Gelding who has had a freshen up, but remains unbeaten from his 2 starts. Gritty winner last time at Kembla Grange which is a positive sign. J-Mac jumps in. Has to be considered and deserving favourite.

(4) Prima Bella WIN

$5.00 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Asahi Super Dry BM72 - 1600m – 3:45pm (AEST)

(2) Kapakiri $6.00: 6YO Gelding who comes back to midweek grade after a decent hit out at Randwick in this grade over 1400m. The rise in trip looks to suit and strips fitter second up. Gets J-Mac into the saddle again who has previously had success when on top. Will need to lug 60.5kg, but draws well and is every chance.

(4) Fairway Star $4.80: 6YO Mare who had been sound in all three runs this campaign in BM78 grade. Dropped back to BM72 last start and tackled the mile and got the chocolates. Remains at this grade and trip now and Collett stays on top. Drawn well and looks to get a lovely run throughout. Query being the heavy conditions.

(6) Investment $13.50/$3.80: Roughie of the field who was superb at big odds last start over 1800m at Randwick. Drops back to the mile now but has to be in the conversation off that last start effort. Rock hard fit and enjoys these conditions.

(4) Fairway Star WIN

$4.80 (1.5 Units)
