Port Adelaide vs Sydney: 2025 AFL Round 15
Power Resurgence
After four straight losses between Round 8-11, with three of them coming by 49+ points, Port Adelaide’s season looked dead and buried. However back-to-back wins against the Giants and Demons has moved them to 6-7 and now within two games of a place in the top eight. The Power’s 25-point win over Melbourne was built on the back of an efficient forward line performance, scoring from 45.8% of their inside 50’s despite having six less inside 50’s than the Dees. Mitch Georgiades was dominant up forward kicking 7.4 and taking 10 marks, while Port’s star trio Connor Rozee (32 disposals), Jason Horne-Francis (29) and Zak Butters (27) were excellent.
Can The Swans Find Something?
The Swans suffered embarrassing defeats in Rounds 11 and 12, by margins of 53 and 90 points. They then bounced back with a 44-point win over the Tigers in Round 13 built on the back of an excellent defensive performance, but it’s difficult to take much stock from a win over the Tigers. Since Round 5 the Swans have a 3-6 record, with their drop in forward 50 production from last season a big part of why they find themselves ranked 13th on the ladder. After being the highest scoring team in the competition last year (97 points per game), they are ranked 14th in 2025 (77 points per game). With Errol Gulden, Tom Papley and Joel Amartey back into the side this weekend, can the Swans get their attacking game going?
The Stats That Matter
The Swans have struggled in a lot of key areas, ranking 14th in points for, 14th in disposals, and 14th for marks. A fellow top four side in 2024, the Power have had similar struggles this season, ranking 15th for points per game and 16th for contested possessions. Both sides have been solid in the clearance battle with Sydney ranking 7th for clearances and Port ranking 8th. Given how bad both clubs have been at scoring this season, being able to gain territory will be a massive factor.
Power or Swans? Here’s Our Port Adelaide vs Sydney Tip
Both teams haven’t been amazing this season, but what Port Adelaide has put together over the last fortnight should hold them in great stead. They’ve defended desperately conceding just 50 and 68 points, and if Georgiades can get going once again, their forward line will cause a vulnerable Swans defence some issues.
Port’s recent record against the Swans is excellent, winning nine of their last ten matches against Sydney, which included an 8-point win in Round 6. The Adelaide Oval hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Swans, having lost five straight against the Power at the venue, including a 112-point defeat in their last away game against Port Adelaide. This certainly won’t be the best game of the weekend, but the Power will grind their way to a win over the Swans.

Port Adelaide vs Sydney Player Prop Bet
Our Best Player Prop: McLean Set to Shine
Despite the Swans struggles against Port Adelaide, Hayden McLean has found a way to contribute in games against the Power. McLean has kicked 2+ in two of his last three games against the Power, including Round 6 this season when he could’ve had a day out, but kicked 2.4. With Amartey back in the team, it should make it easier for McLean to get on the end of a few on Saturday.
