It's another quiet day on the horse racing front, with just the three meetings in Australia on Tuesday. Tim Geers has highlighted three bets during the day, with two at Kyneton and one at Wyong. Find them in his preview below!
Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, September 22nd
Kyneton Race 2 (Market)
(11) Cave Hill was well-backed on debut at Moe but stepped away slowly and settled in the back half of the field. He was beaten less than a length in 5th but I think with a cleaner getaway, we could see her closer to the speed today at a track that can sometime play leaderish. The stable have about a 40% strike rate here at Kyneton and this is their only runner of the day, so I’m tipping her to upset the favourite (10) Baaqyah.
Kyneton Race 9 (Market)
(9) Volatore is the only runner of the day for the Maher/Eustace stable and steps up to BM58 company after a debut win at Kilmore. He steps up from 1200m to 1450m for his second start, which looks to suit given the way he ran over the top of them last start. He looks open to improvement and drawn well in barrier 5, he should sit midfield and take plenty of beating to close out the card.
Wyong Race 4 (Market)
Can’t believe I’m buttering up again on (11) Anakin Skywalker after last start but he’s going to suck me in again today with the step up from 1600m to 2100m. Normally, a step up in distance like that would be a negative to me, but not with this horse and not with this stable. I think it’s a positive today third up from a spell and in another weak field, he gets his chance to win. The favourite (4) Overthink looks the obvious horse to beat.
