Game: St. Louis Cardinals at LA Angels (Listed Pitchers - Miller / Williams)
When: Wednesday, June 3rd at 22:05 PDT (Thursday, 12.05pm AEST - Not shown on TV)
Market: Straight match betting – St. Louis Cardinals ($1.94) at LA Angels ($1.90) at SportsBet
Yesterday did not go to plan for LA Angels superstar hitter Albert Pujols as he went 0-3 with two strikeouts and a walk. In 2011, he cost the Angels $240 million on a ten-year deal and yesterday faced his old team mates at the St. Louis Cardinals for the first time. Despite Pujols having a terrible game, the Angels put up five runs in the second innings yesterday and never looked back, winning the game 5-1. While Pujols didn’t do much to help, the Angels management may just let his form slump slide if they can continue this mid-season purple patch.
Tonight should play out a little different though.
The Cardinals are 32-21 in night games, while the Angels are struggling at night (22-33). The Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller was sent to the showers early on Friday in Oakland, so I’m expecting a big rebound tonight from the young Texan-born pitcher. The Cardinals are known for bouncing back and are now 25-8 this year when coming off a loss. For these reasons we are recommending a small play on the St Louis Cardinals head-to-head vs LA Angels.
Verdict: The Cardinals should continue their form in bouncing back after a loss and have a good enough record at night to show some value in the outright head-to-head betting against the LA Angels. One of the best markets on this match seems to be over at SportsBet.com.au, where you can get the Cardinals at $1.94.
