I think in this group we can write Scott Thompson off. It feels crazy to even say that as in the last couple of years Thompson would have either been heavy favourite in a group like this, or more likely he would have been in the company of a more “elite” group. Thompson just isn’t the player he once was in terms of Dream Team scoring and I don’t expect him to change that on this Sunday afternoon.
Richard Douglas was prolific between rounds 8 and 12, scoring over 120 three times and being a great point of difference for those that had them in their Dream Teams. He’s currently averaging 97.44 on the season, but has scored 66 and 61 in his last two rounds. He did have a massive game against the Kangaroos back in round 9 of this year, scoring 123, but that was during his peak form that we were just discussing. Let’s stay away from Douglas.
Jack Ziebell and Ryan Bastinac are little harder to split, as they have both been super consistant over the last five rounds. Bastinac has scored over 90 in his last four rounds and rarely slips below the 90, but in saying that, he very rarely cracks the tonne. Ziebell on the other hand has cracked 100 Dream Team points in three of his last five games. In addition, Bastinac scored 92 the last time Adelaide and Nth Melbourne met, while Ziebell had a cracker, pinning up 128 Dream Team points. Jump on Ziebell to continue his form and find enough points to win this group.
