Sea Eagles vs Broncos Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 10 2026
Proving their worth
On a 3-game winning streak, the Sea Eagles faced their toughest assignment since Foran took over as interim coach. Most would agree that they passed this test despite their 18-16 road loss to the Panthers. In a gritty contest, the Sea Eagles forced their opponents into mistake several times. Despite just 45% possession, they completed at 81%. They struggle to gain metres in the middle with just 7.8m per carry and were scrambling in defence. Missing 38 tackles and allowing 547 PCM’s hurt their cause. Still, it was a performance which demonstrated the capabilities of this team and that they are heading in the right direction.
15 minutes of brilliance, 65 minutes of pain
It was panic stations at HT against the Roosters last week as the Broncos trailed 24-nil and hardly looked capable of breaking their opponent’s defensive line. It was only in the 50th minute that they crossed for their first points and began to gain momentum. Unfortunately, a brain explosion by Staggs in the dying minutes killed off any chance they had of winning the match. It was always going to be challenging for them with just 43% possession and a 79% completion rate, while also making just 6.2m per carry and only 319 PCM’s. Despite only missing 15 tackles, many defensive lapses were poor to watch. Injuries again didn’t help their cause, but they will also want to take accountability for that result.
Stats that matter
- The Broncos have only played the Sea Eagles once at this ground since 2014. They lost that game last year and have just a 20% record here (2 wins from 10 games) compared to the Sea Eagles 61% strike rate.
- Only once in the past 5 matches has the margin been below 26 points. The average margin of victory is 27.4 points. Interestingly, the total points are low, at an average of 39.4 points, suggesting one-sided contests.
- The Sea Eagles have proven to be better on both sides of the ball this season. They average 28ppg in attack and allow 22ppg in defence. The Broncos average 23ppg on both sides of the ball and will want to make improvements to match it with their opponents in this game.
Plenty of the line, too close to call
As good as the Sea Eagles have been recently, this is arguably the toughest they have faced. Following 4 positive performances and a narrow loss to the Panthers, they return home against a team missing plenty of star players. Only twice this season have teams won (Roosters & Knights) the following week after playing the Panthers. On each occasion, they have played the following week at home. The difficulty increases with a reduced preparation time. The challenges of the Broncos are vast. The naming of Dufty at halfback leaves a gaping hole, with Staggs and Mariner also absent. The Broncos have proven capable this season and regardless of how the scoreboard looks, they can fight their way back into a match. Rather than jump to a conclusion, the safer option appears to be investing on this game to be a tight contest and watching how this game plays out. The jury is still out on the Sea Eagles and it can all far apart fairly quickly with greater pressure applied.

Sea Eagles vs Broncos Same Game Multi
Leg 1 = Total points below 51.5 – see above for justification.
Leg 2 = Mam to score – in the absence of other key players, it’s time for Mam to rise. He hasn’t been out of form so to speak; he has 3 tries from his past 5 matches. However, he needs a large influence on this contest. Thankfully, he has a try against the Sea Eagles in their most recent contest to give him confidence.
Leg 3 = Hopoate to score – rarely can he be kept out of a match. Hopoate has 7 tries in his past 5 matches and has a unique ability to create an attacking movement which gives his team an advantage. This week should be no different either.
