Canterbury Park Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 5th 2026

Race 7: Catanach’s Jewellers Handicap 1550m – 4:20pm AEST

(5) Tenderize continues to race well and the gelding is often under the radar of the market, running around at double figures in most races. He has been placed in the past two at $18 and $12, and it would be great if Gary Portelli’s seven-year-old could do just that once again. Hopefully Braith Nock can land a positive position from barrier three and he drops slightly in weight on recent runs. At $12, he looks a great each-way play.

(11) Sister Daae has placed in three of her last four runs and she will relish the 55.5kg with Tommy Berry in the saddle. She will most likely get back and run home strongly.

(6) Let’s Fly won a Benchmark 64 two runs back before finishing third in this grade at her most recent. She should be in a forward position from barrier one and looks one of the better hopes in a very competitive final race on the card.

(5) Tenderize E/W

$12/$3.50 (1U/1.5U)

Cranbourne Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 5th 2026

Race 3: Down Syndrome Victoria Maiden Plate 1500m – 1:35pm AEST

(9) Bellabama is still a maiden after nine tries, boasting six minor placings beside her name. This may be her best chance to break through and her three most recent placings suggest she is ready to kick down the door to landing the major prize in a race. Daniel Stackhouse should ride her positively against this opposition and she looks hard to beat.

(8) Tempered Edge resumed at Cranbourne with a second placing behind Deny Entry. That winner has since run second in a Benchmark 66. Wolves’ Den who ran third in the maiden behind Tempered Edge has since run second in a maiden at Geelong. Good enough form lines to suggest he can run well here.

(11) Rock Catcher raced three times in New Zealand and is ready for her Australian debut. She looks to have each-way prospects.

(9) Bellabama WIN

$2.70 (2.5 Units)

Race 4: Pinker Pinker Tickets on Sale Now Friday 9 October Handicap 2580m – 2:10pm AEST

(1) Omamori has been a model of consistency without winning this preparation and he will carry 58.5kg with the 3kg claim from apprentice Stephanie Hateley. The gelding’s most recent runs suggest this should be slightly easier and he will be right on the speed from the good gate.

(2) Reddivo has had an interesting prep, running over as much as 3600m before sharply dropping back to 2465m at the very next run when second at Geelong. He then tackled 3172m at Warrnambool, which means dropping back to 2580m shouldn’t really be an issue. Looks right in this race.

(6) Batoka Chief won four starts back and has been third in two of his three runs since. He generally isn’t far away when beaten, so expecting a good performance.

(1) Omamori WIN

$4.60 (1.5 Units)

Belmont Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 5th 2026

Race 3: Morley Growers Market Handicap 1300m – 1:39pm (3:39pm AEST)

(4) Poblano normally shows her best when Pike is in the saddle and that’s the case once again. She was second behind God’s Gate last start and he ran a strong second after that run. From the gate, she should have a nice head start on Desert Ora and looks very hard to beat as she chases her fifth career win at start 10.

(3) Desert Ora has also won four races from nine starts and her class will take her a long way in this. Barrier 11 isn’t ideal when facing a rival such as Poblano. It will be a shock if one of the two favourites don’t win this.

(4) Poblano WIN

$2.10 (3 Units)
