The Sunday afternoon clash at the SCG shapes as a fascinating contest between a Sydney side sitting atop the AFL mountain and a St Kilda outfit desperate to respond after one of its poorest performances of the season. Check out our preview and betting tips for the Sunday clash below.

Sydney vs St Kilda Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 13
Saints Can Stay Within Touching Distance
Sydney deserves favouritism at home, but the Saints look capable of covering the 26.5-point line.
Ross Lyon's side receives a significant boost with Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera expected to return, while the Saints have generally defended the SCG well over recent seasons. Their record against Sydney has also been stronger than many would realise, splitting the past four meetings 2-2, with their two defeats coming by just five and 14 points respectively.
The Saints actually won the last meeting at the SCG by 14 points and should be better equipped than most teams to handle Sydney's pressure. Their defensive structure and ability to slow opposition ball movement can frustrate high-powered attacks, making this feel more like a four-quarter grind than the blowout many are predicting.
Swans Still The Benchmark
Despite last week's loss, St Kilda now faces arguably the toughest assignment in football.
Sydney's 114-point victory over Richmond showcased exactly why they remain premiership favourites. Isaac Heeney was sensational with five goals and 32 disposals, while Charlie Curnow booted eight goals in a frightening display of forward-line firepower. The Swans generated 73 inside 50s and completely overwhelmed the Tigers with speed and pressure.
The cavalry is also arriving at the perfect time. Callum Mills, Brodie Grundy and Matt Roberts are all expected to return, adding even more quality to a side that already ranks among the competition's elite for scoring, territory and midfield dominance.
What to Expect? Here’s Our Best Bet!
The Saints were embarrassed in the first half against Hawthorn, but this feels like a strong bounce-back spot.
With Wanganeen-Milera returning and St Kilda historically performing well against Sydney, expect a much more competitive effort than what we saw last week. The Saints have enough experience behind the ball through Jack Sinclair, Callum Wilkie and Wanganeen-Milera to absorb periods of pressure and prevent the game from completely blowing out.
Sydney should still win the match, but the Saints look capable of hanging around for long enough to cover the number.

Sydney vs St Kilda Prop Bet
Tom De Koning's role has evolved noticeably over the past month, spending far more time resting forward while still carrying the bulk of the ruck duties. The result has been six goals across his last five matches, including two goals against Hawthorn last week.
Sydney's focus will naturally be on limiting the Saints' key forwards, which could allow De Koning to drift into dangerous areas and create mismatches. At close to even money, backing him to hit the scoreboard at least once looks an attractive play.
Sydney vs St Kilda Same Game Multi
Nick Blakey 25+ Disposals | Jack Sinclair 25+ Disposals | Max Hall 20+ Disposals
This multi focuses on three players whose roles and matchups set up perfectly for accumulation.
Nick Blakey should thrive against a St Kilda side that consistently allows running half-backs to find uncontested marks and handball receives. Jack Sinclair continues to be one of the safest disposal plays in the AFL, clearing 25 disposals in five consecutive matches while averaging 29.7 for the season. Max Hall has now cemented his place as a full-time midfielder and has recorded at least 23 disposals in five straight games.
