Bendigo Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 26th 2026

Race 3: Ranbuild Maiden Plate 1600m – 2:10pm AEST

(5) Carry Trade is a four-year-old mare that is still chasing an elusive win with three minor placings from five attempts. She started this prep with a second placing at Seymour before running fourth at Bendigo last time over 1400m. That was a pretty good effort as she raced three-wide and still finished within 3.5 lengths of the winner. If she can slot in somewhere in the top four speed-map wise, she should prove hard to beat.

(10) Corretto improved sharply at his second career start to finish second on the Ballarat synthetic. He led but simply wasn’t good enough for the winner but easily beat home the rest of the field. He is likely to be much further back this time around but has each-way claims third-up.

(7) His Lady Bay is yet to place in eight career starts, but this could be the best chance for her to land a minor placing at the least. She gets Damian Lane aboard which is a huge positive and her prior form wasn’t too bad if you ignore last start’s failure at Naracoorte when unplaced as a $1.90 favourite.

(5) Carry Trade

$2.20 (3 units)

Race 6: HJ Miller Electrical Class 1 Handicap 1100m – 3:55pm AEST

(3) Kippis returns to the races for the first time since January when capturing her maiden at Cranbourne over 1200m. Fitness will be the query as she has had a trial and jump out recently but faces some race-fit opposition. She may also be back in the run which goes against her. The positives are that her best race form looks quite good here and apprentice Jabez Johnstone is riding well.

(1) Col Klink had a trainer change earlier in the year, joining Lindsey Smith. He won a maiden at Geelong after the transfer of stable before being turned out. Winning a recent jump out should have him ready to run a race here.

(10) Gina’s A Star is one of the horses with fitness under her belt. She won two starts back over 1000m before finishing third at Bendigo over this distance in a Benchmark 62 Handicap. John Allen could let her slide up from the outside gate to take a forward position. Each-way claims.

(3) Kippis E/W

$6.50/$2.45 (1u/1.5u)

Doomben Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 26th 2026

Race 2: Gallopers Sports Club Maiden Plate 1350m – 1:08pm AEST

(8) Agadoo has placed in half of her 10 career starts but has been unable to land the major prize. Hopefully she can make the most of gate four and settle a little closer than her normal racing pattern which is well back in the field. With the rail out a long way, it’d be beneficial to be closer to the speed. If she can bring some of her better runs in defeat to this race, it could be enough to land the first-place cheque.

(9) Bev’s Special started her career with a runner-up performance, beaten one length by Mishani Prince. She may press the button early to land a forward position and can run well again. I’m happy to back her too.

(3) I Am Louie is prepared by Tony Gollan and the four-year-old gelding embarks on his second preparation. In the first, he raced three times for a pair of minor placings. He has trialled twice leading into this and should be forward enough to run a good race.

Also backing: (9) Bev’s Special @ $9.50 (1 Unit)

(8) Agadoo

$3.50 (2 Units)

Belmont Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 26th 2026

Race 5: Wittens Irrigation & Design Handicap 1200m – 3:27pm (5:27pm AEST)

(3) Marcos is racing well, winning two starts ago over course and distance. He then finished second as a $1.65 favourite at Northam over 1300m. He was narrowly beaten by Flying Maradona and that horse has since run well in a Westspeed Platinum Series Heat. The widest gate in the field of nine will give Chris Parnham something to think about, but this three-year-old has the best form in the race and should be hard to hold out.

(8) Vienna Calling captured her maiden last start and with any further improvement from that victory, she can pose a threat in this race.

(1) Espresso Time is also a last start winner, winning a maiden over 1100m at Northam. He gets a 2kg claim to carry 58kg in the race and looks to have each-way claims on that basis.

(3) Marcos

$1.95 (3 Units)
