Hitting horrible form
The Sharks were upset 38-18 on the road by the Eels last week, failing to compete with a team that is out of Finals contention. Failing to resemble a team that is fighting for a spot in the Top 4, the Sharks were poor in several areas. With 48% possession and a 86% completion rate, they ran for 9.5m per carry and had 500 PCM’s. This was in vain as they failed to convert this into points. Several questions about their execution will continue to be asked and a change is needed if they’re to be successful in the Finals.
Finishing on a positive
Out of contention, the Storm produced a strong 46-20 road victory over the Broncos. Outclassing their opponents in all areas, they were strong, and the game was all but over at HT as they lead 30-10. Their dominance was made more amazing by the fact they completed at just 68%; they overcame this by running for 9.3m per carry and having strong defence (missing just 18 tackles). Wins like this, at this stage of the season, will give them the confidence to excel ahead of the 2027 preseason campaign.
