BOOM Esports vs Army Geniuses
BTS Pro Series Season 9 SEA
BOOM Esports won against Yangon Galacticos on Monday but needed over 58 minutes to close out map one. Realistically, Yangon Galacticos could have won that map and potentially forced a draw, but they got outmatched by BOOM in the late game, which is more of an indication of BOOM’s strength rather than Galacticos’ weakness.
Army Geniuses are 1-1-1, with a win against Execration, a draw against Yangon Galacticos and a loss against Polaris Esports. Those results further confirm what we already know, Army Geniuses are a decent team, but they’re not one of the top contenders.
I can’t say I am overly excited about Army Geniuses, whose only tournament win came against the out-of-form Execration. And even in that match, Army Geniuses needed over two hours to seal the deal.
This will be a rematch from BTS Pro Series Season 8 when BOOM Esports won 2-0 with 23-8 and 28-8 in kills. Army Geniuses have since not shown any improvement, and while they have had some decent showings in October, I don’t believe they’ll see any success against BOOM.
I generally avoid large kill handicaps, but -14.5 on BOOM Esports at 1.83 is justifiable. BOOM are one of the top teams at the tournament and the reigning champions, so they definitely shouldn’t struggle against a squad that has not achieved anything in a year.

Polaris Esports vs Motivate.Trust Gaming
BTS Pro Series Season 9 SEA
Motivate.Trust Gaming delivered on Monday, with a 2-0 win against Execration. The match was very one-sided from the first map, and I can’t say I was surprised.
Now the question is whether Motivate.Trust Gaming can be just as impressive against Polaris Esports? Picklebet has Polaris priced at 2.75, draw at 1.90, and Motivate.Trust Gaming at 4.36, suggesting this will be a close match that will likely end in each team winning one map.
I can’t praise Motivate.Trust Gaming too much for what they’ve produced so far since they’ve played only two bouts this season. However, they’re still 2-0, with wins against Execration and Yangon Galacticos. Polaris are 1-1-0, with a win against Army Geniuses and a draw against Execration.
Comparing those results, Motivate.Trust Gaming should be considered as a stronger team. But we must also take into account the H2H record, which heavily favours Polaris.
Polaris have met with Motivate.Trust Gaming three times across the last month during PNXBET Invitationals and haven’t lost a single bout. In their first clash, the teams played a draw, while the remaining two ended in 2-0 and 3-0 wins for Polaris.
Motivate.Trust Gaming have played well at the tournament and showed a lot of positive things, but it’s clear that they’re not suited for this matchup. Stylistically Motivate.Trust Gaming don’t match up well with Polaris, and considering they lost 0-3 against them on Sunday, it’s unlikely that the rematch will end differently.
Acend vs Team Finest
LVP Rising Series Finale
Acend and Team Finest are set to clash in the LVP Rising Series Finale semi-finals, in their first meeting since June, when Acend won 1-0. These two teams should have met in September during the third series of LVP Rising; however, Acend had to forfeit the match due to conflicting schedules.
PickleBet has Acend priced as 1.25 favourites for this bout and Team Finest as 3.50 underdogs, which should make sense, seeing how Acend are a well-known name in the VALORANT competitive scene.
Acend were long viewed as one of the top EMEA teams, and they had results to back that up. They won VCT 2021: Europe Stage 3 Challengers 1 in July and finished third in the VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs a month later.
However, despite their success earlier this year, Acend haven’t achieved anything for the past three months. Not only that, but Acend have been extremely disappointing in their recent showings, most notably, with their fifth-eighth place finish at the Berlin Major.
Since their early exit from the Berlin Major, Acend have played only two games, and while they have won both, I wouldn’t overreact to Acend beating UCAM Esports and Giants Gaming.
Team Fiend have never reached the same heights as Acend, but they have been one of the top competitors in the LVP in the second series and have never placed worse than top-four. This is by no means a top-tier team, but they have had some solid performance over the season and even caused a few upsets, including a 2-1 win against G2 Esports in June.
Acend should win since they are stronger, but after watching them play, it’s clear that something isn’t clicking in this team. Acend can be good, but they’re simply not playing well currently. I don’t believe Team Fiend can win unless Acend flop, but I also don’t see how Acend can win 2-0.
