Esports Betting Tips: CSGO and Dota2 – Sunday, 5th April
Rogue vs Misfits
DOTA2 LEC 2020 Spring Split playoffs
Rogue are entering Legends European Championship (LEC) Spring Split playoffs as the underdogs, which is understandable, considering they finished the regular season at sixth place with 6-6 record. Having said that, they are a team that is capable of much more than what they led us to believe. They have very strong laning and a solid macro play, but it seems like they lack that little something to become one of the top-four teams in Europe.
Misfits, on the other side looked very strong in the early stages of the Spring Split, but fell off hard towards the end of the season. While they still comfortably secured a ticket for the playoffs, their performances through the last few weeks were less-than-inspiring, which is why siding with them here is not something we would consider doing. Despite what the odds would lead us to believe, this match is a complete coin-toss, which is why siding with the underdogs is a no-brainer pick for us.
Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves
DOTA2 LCS 2020 Spring Split playoffs
There is a lot to talk about for this match, but so little that needs to be said. It's been a while since one team was as dominant throughout the regular season as Cloud9 were this year. 100 Thieves, on the other side were seen as a team that will struggle to finish in the top-six, let alone in the top-three, but they did it. Although 100T had their moments of weakness throughout the season, they improved significantly towards the end of the split, namely their jungler William "Meteos" Hartman and mid laner Tommy "Ryoma" Le and now finally look like a proper top-tier NA LoL team.
100 Thieves will now be put to a true test, as they meet with the undisputed alpha dogs of the North American LoL scene, where Meteos and co. are expected to struggle. Having said that, Cloud9 are not completely invincible, meaning they can easily drop one map. In fact, we expect them to drop at least one here for two reasons - Cloud9 are playing with their heads in the clouds (no pun intended) and they looked a bit sloppy in the final weeks of the split. We don't expect any miracles as that in LEC, but 100 Thieves should easily pocket at least one map here.
AGO vs Secret
CS:GO LOOT.BET Season 6
Team Secret are entering LOOT.BET Season 6 as one of the weakest teams in the field, as they failed to achieve any notable results since the turn of the year. They produced two failed attempts at FLASHPOINT and Europe Minor qualifiers where they failed to win a single match, which is not a promising sign. On a more positive note, they mustered up enough energy to edge past BLUEJAYS and Singularity at the LOOT.BET Season 6 Closed Qualifier to earn a ticket for this event. This, however, does not inspire much optimism, as Team Secret are still a team that lacks any serious playtime, which would allow them to remain competitive. AGO, on the other side, are a complete contrast to that, as they have played almost every day at the ESEA MLD Season 33 Europe for the past month, where, they are doing exceptionally well on top of that.
Odds offered on AGO might not be all too tempting, but even at 1.50, they are severely underrated. We would have no problem with those odds, if this would be a best-of-one (Bo1) match, but considering it’s a Bo3, a 1.20 on AGO for an outright win would be fairer. There are some arguments to be made a map handicap bet is better to take here, but I would advise against it, as this match will be played online, which brings some level of unpredictability. Nonetheless, AGO should come out ahead with relative ease here.
